I too am a lifelong SNL fan; my parents used to watch it when I was *very* young back when it was first on. Then I subscribed to the best of SNL tapes and had some of the primo sketches right at my fingertips. I have been laughing out loud at several already mentioned. My favorites include:
Phil Hartman as the Anal Retentive Chef "I put the scraps in this handy paper bag and I fold it just so and then put some scotch tape on it----I have some tape right here in it's little cozy that I made" It was like pre- Martha Stewart!
Canis- the cologne for dogs (God, wasn't that sick and yet so funny at the same time?????????)
Chris Farley and Patrick Swayze as the Chippendale Dancers
There is one where I think it was an Olympic year and Jason Priestly was the guest and he was figure skating and kept messing up and the commentators kept saying "oh...OH...that's gotta hurt..." It was SO funny!
Tom Hanks, Mike Myers, Dana Carvey and AEROSMITH! What more could you want? "Syballence....Syballence..." And then one of the Aerosmith guys talking about the fall of Communism....sooooo funny!!!!!!!!!!
Martin Short and Christopher Guest doing the synchronized swimming---laughed so hard I was choking
Jan Hooks and Nora Dunn as the Sweeney Sisters
Bill Murray singing Bar Wars
Shwetty Balls
I know there's more, but those are my primo faves I can think of at the moment.
