What's your favorite preferred view at BWV?

We will be staying in a preferred view room at BWV in October and I was wondering if any of you out there have an area in this category that you really enjoyed that we could request. We like a quiet area with a nice view - I don't think overlooking the main pool is at all for us. Any suggestions? What are the options really?

Thank you!

Our favorite is the view of the quiet pool. Our kids spend a lot of time there anyway, especially at Community Hall.

I stayed in a great room overlooking the main pool. It had a fantastic view of the Disney Studios, Swan & I could even see Blizzard Beach off in the distance. It was a fifth floor room, I'm unsure of the exact room but it was around 5033. If you take the villas elevator up to the fifth floor, take a left down the hall it was the second room on the left. It's also a handicap room and was larger than the other studios.

Any room overloooking the BW that is on the 5th floor is great!!!

txdznydude, was your room overlooking the main pool sort of quiet? Did you have easy access to the parking lot?

wdwa1, what is the Village Green Villas?

I am thinking of the quiet pool area as well, just because I think it would be quieter than the main pool area. Other than the main pool area and quiet pool area, are there any other options for preferred view? Unfortunately this doesn't include boardwalk view - sure wish it did!!!

The Village Green is the garden/lawn area facing the Boardwalk Inn on the boardwalk side, you would have a partial boardwalk view.

The Village Green is the grassy area that separates the boardwalk from the double staircases leading to the resort. The rooms that overlook the village green views do not have a direct boardwalk view, you have to look to the side, but they have darn good boardwalk views. Because they do not face the boardwalk these villas are classified as preferred view villas not boardwalk view. There are not a lot of these villas so are not always easy to get. But if you can get one--they are wonderful.

When I spoke to MS last week, I was told this is a boardwalk view. I had preferred nonboardwalk come through on the waitlist. She asked if I had requests and I said Village Green. I was told not possible in my category. Since it has some BW it is a BW view.

Guess nobody knows for sure.

I think Boardwalk has some "gray areas" between the categories and this may be one of them. Another is facing the tennis courts/valet parking, some have had it as standard, some preferred. Also facing the Swan/Dolphin on the end near Jellyrolls.

I agree with DebbieB. This must be a big gray area because we have stayed in village green view villas several times since the "official" boardwalk views were designated and they have always been classified as preferred NOT boardwalk view villas. We have also stayed in "tennis court" view villas numerous times and have ALWAYS paid standard points.

Now I understand what area you are referring to. Sounds like a nice place - I will TRY to request it, and see what they say. Maybe if they give me a hard time, I might tell them that I have friends who have stayed in that area several times with preferred non-bwv. Maybe push back just a little. Who knows.

I know the last time we were at BWV we sat on the rocking chairs right outside the lobby overlooking the village green and had a perfect view of Wishes off in the distance. I think we had a perfectly centered view. It might be possible if we leaned over to see it from that area as well.

Well, thanks for the advice! I am okay with a pool view, but a little concerned about noise, so this might be a nice alternative. Plus it is probably nice and centrally located. I will try not to get my hopes up too much though.

PS - Do most MS reps know what you are referring to when you say Village Green? Is there another way to describe it that might help?

I do not think all (if any) of the MS CMs really know the "view definitions" used by the BWV room assigners. IMHO, it's the room assigners' view definitions that matter! I also think the room assigners have leeway when needed and that is why there are a few "gray areas" in our understanding of the view definitions.

Call MS back and ask the CM to add your Village Green request to the reservation. You may not even get a comment/argument about it unless you happen to get the same CM (unlikely). If you are not successful after very politely explaining/insisting, just ask for a Supervisor.

Best wishes -
