What's your favorite meal and why?

Oooh - and one more:

swiss cheese on good white bread and lots of mayo. With Cool Ranch Doritos. One of my fave meals.

Its a toss up between sushi and Minced Potatoes. Its a Scottish dish that my mother used to make all the time growing up. Its hamburger meat with carrots, peas and maccaroni in top of mashed potatoes. So yummy!

I have two:

My mom's meatloaf, covered in ketchup, and then coated with the drippings and tomato gravy... served with mashed red potatoes (skins on) also covered in the gravy.

My other favorite is a Lenny's Sub Shop chicken salad sub! :thumbsup2

So many things come to mind....some of the things others have mentioned....

Pot Roast, Potatoes and gravy
Thanksgiving dinner
Chili on a cold winter weekend

But I would have to say mine would be a perfectly grilled Filet Mignon and a baked potato.

Southern Fried Chicken
Either chicken gravy or tomato gravy and rice
fresh butter peas or fresh creamed corn
broccoli & cauliflower with a cheese sauce made from butter, flour, cream cheese and cheddar cheese.
mom's biscuits or yeast rolls
sweet tea

a complete southern, comfort meal that only mom can make! (well I try but its never as good as mom's!)

As for an overall favorite dinner, I'd have to go with Thanksgiving Dinner and all the trimmings! I love the smells of that dinner being prepared, too!

For an "I can make it anyday" favorite dinner, I like tacos! Tacos have a little bit of everything--some crunch in the shell, a little spice in the meat, and a good veggie topping plus cheese. YUM! :)

My favorite summer meal would be some steaks on the grill, potatoes (I like these made a variety of ways so just about any kind of potatoes would be fine) and fresh corn on the cob with a salad.

/
Spaghetti with meat sauce (lots of meat) :thumbsup2
Green salad with ranch dressing
Garlic bread

Not so much of a treat, because I have to cook it. I pretty much only like *mine*.

That's whats for dinner at my house tonight!

Well, not quite the same, because you aren't cooking it (but you are welcome to come on over!) and because I also add Italian sausages, grilled and sliced, to my meat sauce. But everything else is on the menu! YUMMY!

I have two favorites:

Fried liver and onions - with mashed potatoes.. I hated it as a child - my mom always cooked it till it was like shoe leather - but then my late DH prepared it for me the correct way and I have loved it for the past 30 years.. When I eat it now, I think of him..:lovestruc

My second choice is my own baked macaroni and cheese - with a side of french-style green beans, seasoned with garlic salt.. To me it's "comfort" food - although I have to be careful with it because the cheese doesn't agree with me.. I normally suffer for a few days after I eat it, but it's sooooo worth it!! :goodvibes

My DH makes something called daddy's special chicken. He takes really thin sliced chicken breast and covers them with panko and pan fries them. Then he makes pan fried egg noodles and we cover the whole thing with tomato sauce. He hardly ever makes so it's always a treat.

My favorite favorite meal is very easy... chocolate chip pancakes with a side of bacon. Yum.

My second favorite is Shake n Bake BBQ chicken with a side of boiled potatoes. Then we melt butter, add garlic and dill to the butter, and then mix it into the potatoes. mmm.....

Kinda caught between the two:

Pot roast that's been cooking in the crockpot all day, especially the carrots (and the only time I eat them, lol)

Veggie burrito (spicy please) served with refried beans, mexican rice, and loads of guacamole, homemade salsa, and sour cream...

Chicken & Dumplings
Pinto beans
Corn
Biscuits or cornbread

Spaghetti or Lasanga is my second favorite!

:thumbsup2

I have so many and my only reason for liking them is because they taste great.

Beef Fajitas (especially from Denny's - It's the only thing I get there)

Italian Chicken - Especially good if I get it browned perfectly

Any Angus steak/meat (even use roasts), cut down into strips, marinated with Montreal Steak Seasoning, and then grilled to perfection. This is what EVERYONE asks me to make. Some people even invite themselves to our dinner table so I will make it for them. We even have many family members offering to buy steaks for my entire family if I make this for them.

Tender, fall-off-the-bone, cut-it-with-a-fork roast beef, with roasted potatoes dripping in real butter, and cooked carrots/onions.

I make this often during the cold weather months, all in one pan, tossed into the oven for about an hour. Delicious!!

Lasagna with a fresh loaf of Italian bread and mozzarella salad. I'll eat anything Italian, but this is my absolute favorite!

Homemade Spaghetti and meatballs with cheesy garlic bread and a nice salad

Chicken faquitas with lots of onions and peppers, mmmm!

Mom's fried chicken, mashed potatoes, cole slaw, baked beans and biscuits

Homemade Chili with fixins

Spaghetti and Meatballs!!

I couldn't tell you why..

Roast Beef
Yorkshire pudding
Gravy
Green Beans with butter and almonds

I'm another one who loves Thanksgiving dinner...

My favorite would be homemade caramel rolls, hot, with fresh butter served with scrambled eggs and bacon. This would then be followed several hours later with medium rare garlic, pepper and salt crusted prime rib, cheesy whipped potatoes, steamed green beans and butter, frozen bread dough rolls with cranberry cake and caramel sauce (cream, vanilla, butter and sugar) for dessert.

This would be our Christmas Day breakfast and dinner menu :thumbsup2
