Whats your favorite food on DCL?

My first cruise on the Wonder I ordered the bread pudding with vanilla sauce and I'm still dreaming about it. I love the strawberry soup. It makes happiness in my mouth. :cheer2: :rotfl:

Let's see....

Royal Garden - the Duck Consumme - very rich, salty and yummy! I wish I could get a big thermos of it to sip on all evening!

Remy - the Turdot - but not for the fish, for the gnocchi in white wine sauce that comes with it! Little pillow of heaven!

Palo - the souffle

Room service - the BLT! YUMMY!!

Pirate night - the rum raisin sundae! Arrrr!!!

The chocolate chip cookies. They rank right up there with my own home-made ones!! I swear, I eat at least three a day and they're BIG!

As for real food, I honestly don't pay enough attention to remember what I ate each night, but I know that on the Dream, one of our nights in Animator's Palate, we had a pasta dish that was just wonderful. I felt so comfortable and had "warm fuzzies" when I left. But again, not an attention to detail person, so I have no idea what it was called.

I also looked forward to the different breads and spreads each night at dinner.

So...cookies, pasta, and bread. Yay for carbs!!!:dance3:

The Grand Marnier souffle is my favorite! I ordered something else the night we were at Triton, but our server really wanted me to try it. I fell in love with it, and he ended up bringing it to me for dessert every night after that.

This is my favorite dessert, so much better than the chocolate version at Palo.

Now this is my #1 entree

This is a kinda related question, how is the pizza on deck at pinnochios? Terrible? Barely Edible? Just OK? Not bad? Pretty good? Good? Yummy?

For the record, I love costco pizza!

Will they make fresh pizza to order if you ask them? There is nothing worse than pizza that has been sitting around. Same with the chicken strips, can you get them to order or are they sitting under a heat lamp?

My hubby & son really liked the pizzas on the Wonder. And YES they will make you a freshie! They are small individual sized pizzas not slices of a big pie, so fresh is the norm for them.

I also LOVED the pannini & would get a salad to go with on deck for lunches - add some fresh fruit & YUMMMMM! (Its even healthy!)

Our Palo brunch was incredible! I personally LOVE nibbling on caviar on toast points with chopped egg & crab claws! And the desserts were MMMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!

Creme Brulee !!!

And strawberry soup! If I'm not mistaken, the strawberry soup is only offered during the embarkation lunch. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong ... cuz I'd love to have it more than once!!!

I had it at least twice in Topsiders during lunch. During the embarkation buffet one time; I cannot remember what other day(s). At most it was three times, but I do know for sure we had it twice.

I don't know why but I love the taco's from Pluto's!! I think they are just delicious!popcorn:: I also love this one bread they have at Palo for brunch, it has nuts in it and it is soooooo good!! I can never remember what it is called but I know it when I see it!:thumbsup2 Ohhhh and the chicken parm for brunch at Palo with the risotto is my FAV too, oh my I have a lot of favorites!!:lmao: MMMMM only 108 days to go!!!!!:dance3::yay:

Sea bass and escargot at Lumiere's.
Chicken strips and fries at Pluto's.
Blue cheese and grape pizza, chocolate souffle, and portobello mushroom polenta at Palo.
French toast banana bread pudding at Parrot Cay.
Konk kooler from any bar. ;)

Just to name a few...

Thanks everyone, lots of good info :goodvibes

I'm getting a good general consensus here as advice. So Cookies BBQ good overall, strawberry soup is a must try as well as creme brulee and the banana pudding and choco souffle. My parents and brother love all things fishy so they will be happy. I'm hoping the beef leans towards well done, and that explains why most people don't favor it? Can't wait to try things out for myself!

Palo sounds great, but we like to do the dinners as a family and since we can't take the little one we won't be trying it out this time around. Sounds tempting though!

Silly question, but can you take goldfish or buy them on the ship somewhere? Our DD is a year old and loves to snack on these things.

My DD is asking if the tacos at Plutos are crunchy tacos? She's hoping so because that is all she'll live on during the daylight hours. :)

Also, the bread from Palo, is that the stollen bread? That is sooooo fabulous. Especially with their fresh whipped cream and berries!!

Chicken fingers and fries are a must for our family. My Df loved the lamb chops and I enjoyed the lobster tail we had at Palo's. I always eat pineapple everyday..something about it that I enjoy eating it on every cruise!!!

You can bring snacks with you so long as they're sealed in the original container and commercial food, not home made.

I would take them with you. I don't recall seeing them on the ship. :)

Thanks for the advice about the goldfish!! DD will now have a good trip, which means we will have a good trip :)

I'm curious about the tacos also, I'm with your daughter I could live on them and crunchy is the best!

Anything on the Palo Bruch menu. Do not forget to get/ask for a to go plate.

I love my steaks well-done, and always order it extra well. The steaks tend to be my favorite on the ship, and have always been excellent (Beef Tenderloin Palo was listed as one of my favorites, but Lumiere's has a good beef tenderloin also).

Omg that was my FAVORITE desert of all!!!

This is really unusual. If you have a highly experienced server, they really know what is good. In 5 cruises we have had great servers three times. So it is a bit hit and miss.On our Med cruise last August we had a serving team that was so experienced, that I almost did let them choose my meal each night. Simon has been with DCL since the beginning. He really knows his stuff. I often set my heart on something, like lamb or such and he would gently guide me towards something else. But he always brought me a bit of both. He was right every time. When we had less than decent chicken kabobs at lunch one day at Topsiders, Simon was clearing dishes. He saw that we left the kabobs and asked us what the problem was. That night we had the best chicken kabobs I have ever had in my life. He spoke to the chef and had a completely different recipe done for us that night. If you do not like something, let them know. You will have a replacement in minutes. Or they can redo the dish for you. But Simon took the time to really get to know us the first couple of nights. It is much easier for the servers on the longer cruises. It's tough for them to get to know you before the cruise is over on 3 and 4 night cruises.

One not to miss for me is the butternut squash soup at Artist Palette the first night you are there. And there is a bread pudding served in Parrot Cay that is very yummy too. I find that lamb and fish dishes tend to be the best on DCL. The beef and chicken sometimes lead a lot to be desired. Although I have had some good short ribs before. All the soufflés I've had have been very good, especially the chocolate one at Palo. If you want beef, get it at Palo. Their filet there is one of the best I have ever had.

I wonder if that was our head server Simone on the Dream? He was awesome and when he saw that I didn't like my soup he brought me some soup that wasn't even on the menu and was INCREDIBLE!!!

Pizza at Palo brunch. (You may also order it at Palo dinner, which we always do!):teeth:

The blue cheese and grape pizza was AMAZING!!!

The strawberry soup!!! It was so tasty and refreshing.

I got the recipe. My son hardly eats anything but this is his all time favorite. I make it on his birthday.

I loved all the cold soups on the Magic. There was a yummy melon one and my absolute favorite was on a sea day in the dining room, strawberry banana. They are more like desserts than soup.

We were on the Dream the first week of July and my dad, brother, and husband all raved about the veal. They actually said it "was the best piece of meat that they ever had".
I didn't find the grill food/salad etc until the last day because my husband usually ran for food while I was with the kids and it's too bad because I really did enjoy the wraps, paninis etc. Also, at the very end of that aisle of grill food (pool deck) was also the only place I saw some different fresh fruit...peaches, etc. The fruit was pretty much under lock and key, unfortunately.
