What's your favorite DTD restaurant?

On our arrival day my girls have appointments at Studio 365 and we can either head back to DLH and eat at Tangaroa Terrace or eat at DTD, so I'm looking for opinions.

I'd drink my dinner at Trader Sam's, but the kids gotta eat :lmao:

We like Ralph's and Rainforest for our kids. Tried Naples but it lacked the quality is tries to uphold.*

The wife and I love the pizza's at naples.

We tried the Jazz Kitchen and weren't too impressed. Upon reading reviews, though, I think we just got unlucky. We might try it again in the future - this time with a Thursday night reservation for the dueling pianos.

I'm a sports junky so I always see ESPN and get sucked in. Of the 4 times we've gone, 2 really sucked and 1 was just meh and 1 was ok.

I remember eating at Rainforest as a kid and really liking it. I haven't tried it since as walking in there, for some weird reason, makes me anxious and claustrophobic.

An absolute must, though, is to get beignets from the quick service place attached to the Jazz Kitchen (name escapes me right now). They are a lot better than the ones in DL and so so sooooooo yummy

Always have a nice experience at the RFC... if they do not seat my by the restromm like they did once...:lmao: food is tasty though, and enjoy the fun there!

Thanks for the replies! I absolutely plan to get some beignets.

We have a RFC 45 minutes from our house and go often enough, so I want to try something new. The Jazz Kitchen sounds good, but maybe not the best reviews?

Decisions decisions.

Our favorite, and a must do on every trip, is Tortilla Jo's!

We like RFC too, but don't go there very often.

We always make it a point to visit Ralph Brennan's while at DLR and it's always been great. We really, really enjoy it. Fun atmosphere, good service, kid friendly, delicious food... have never had a poor experience. Love sitting outside on the patio, especially in the evening!

Personally like the chicken & waffles, French Quarter salad, blackened chicken carbonara, and bananas foster French toast. Have ordered the bananas foster for dessert and, while delicious, isn't worth the cost--you're definitely paying for the show. Reccomend the double chocolate bread pudding (YUM!). :goodvibes

The best plan so far to me is kids eating Tangoroa Terrace while you drink your Trader Sam's. I would imagine you could pick up TT and take it over to TS.

I love dueling pianos!!!! So much fun! I hope your return is better, we've always had amazing visits at RBJK! :)
The beignets at the quick service place are great, the name of the place is simply Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen Express, you can get quick items to go there (ie fish and chicken strips, fries, gumbo, beignets etc) if you don't want to sit down and eat at the RBJK. :)

We avoid TJ's, it has made us sick both times we've eaten there.

Our faves are RBJK & RFC, we also had a pizza from Naples and enjoyed it.

We tried RFC on our last visit and I was not impressed in the least. The food was over priced and over cooked. the service was slow. Plus our server did not make it clear when we ordered alcoholic drinks that we had a choice of purchasing it with a "free" souvenir glass (that actually cost $13.99) or just purchase the standard drink at half the price.

I had to get the manager involved to ensure them that I was absolutely NOT going to pay $45 for 3 drinks!

I will never go there again. The one in the MGM Grand Casino is Las Vegas is much, much better.

I've been to that one too! Very fun!

Bar Uva (Uva Bar, I can't remember) simple and good, I don't remember it being outrageous in cost. Catal, more on the expensive side(which resturant in DTD isn't), but good. Sit outside on the deck.

If you're just looking for dessert one night, I love to grab some bread pudding at the bar in Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen and listen to some piano playin'! Have fun!!

I have enjoyed eating at naples and rain forest. We will probably branch out and try some other places next trip.

I don't know when your trip is, but mine will be The Earl of Sandwich when it opens. It is already a must on trips to WDW. We never miss it there.

We ate at the one in MGM Grand too, it was the same as the one in DTD.......

When I meant "better" that was only as far as the level of service I received as well as the fact that my food wasn't burnt. To me, that is a total deal breaker. Never going back anyway, and this is why.

I have eaten at all of the DTD restaurants with the exception of Raph's ( which I plan to remedy soon! :lmao:) and Uva bar. I will say the one eatery that is always consistent is House of Blues. We have never, ever had a bad meal there. I understand that they have changed their menu and have a new head chef so I don't know if that affects anything. :confused3 My "won't do again's" are RFC and ESPN. We tried both places twice just in case we hit a fluke and were gravely disappointed.

I forgot earl of sandwich was opening! Believe it or not in all my trips to WDW I have never been! We always go for Wolfgang Puck Express because we are always using the dining plan and it's such a good deal! but we may have to try it if it's open by mid-July. Thanks for the reminder.

I also have a $30 coupon from Patina Group that I'm pretty sure applies to Naples.
