what's your favorite Disneyland hotel

GCH... Only themed hotel at the DLR, and only hotel built by Disney! Also it's the closest!

My DH and I would have to say the Grand....Love the feel and the proximity to the parks. My DH loves it cuz its not tooo Disney, :confused3 He's not quite the fan that I am ...;)

My kids would have to say the Disneyland Hotel. They loved it.

GCH. Love the proximity. :cloud9: Like the decor. Like Whitewater Snacks & Storytellers.

Usually DLH. Sometimes GCH. Depends on the trip! If it's a girlfriend getaway, GCH. If it's a family trip, DLH. GCH is the more elegant, adult option and is closer to the parks (although with the weird configuration, you may end up walking as much as if you were at DLH). It's also more expensive in every way. DLH is more traditional Disney and has a lot of fun things for kids to see and do. The rooms are larger and you can more easily accomodate a family of 5, which I have.

We like the GCH. It is close to so many things. We had a DTD view and I absolutely loved the people watching , the night music and the food aromas.

Well depends on what you want. Disney at a reasonable price? PH, the pool is great there, the rooms are a bit bigger and it is cheaper. DL is my favorite. Very Disneyesque, great pool. I have yet to stay at the Grand only because of the price (I go 4 to 6 times a year), so I'd have to say DLH.

PPH. Big rooms, friendly people, pretty lights in their car-pulling-up area. Smells of suntan lotion pumped into the hallway off the lobby. Very pleasant, light airy happy.

Then it's DLH b/c it's the original. I used to like the grounds, which isn't a reason to STAY there, but I guess they are messing with the grounds, getting rid of the fish, the waterfall, etc etc etc. Drat.

The Grand is my least favorite. Small dark rooms, and our particular room was as far away from the Esplanade's center as walking from HoJo's parking lot would have been. Would be nice if we had a *close* room, but I'll also mention that we weren't even the furthest away room! Very annoying for a hotel that is the "closest". Toiletries are nicer there, but the hard plastic tube-bottles they have them in make it nearly impossible to finish up what's in them. I've nearly injured my hand trying to squeeze that thing to finish up shampoo. Grr.

GC for a more grownup Disney feel and the gate to DD and DCA. The DLH is nice if you have kids and want the old school Disney feel. Not a big fan of PPH. It feels like a overpriced Holiday Inn to me.

The PPH is my least favorite I didn't feel like it was a Disney Hotel, there isn't much in terms of theme or decoration. However the hotel itself was pleasant and our stay was good, no complaints.

We stayed at the DL hotel and overlooked Downtown Disney and could see the monorail going by, my kids still talk about that. I personally love this hotel for the nostalgic feeling of it, I would stay here in a heartbeat.

The GC is of course beautiful and stately and has the best proximity to the parks, especially DCA with the private entrance. It is the most "Disney-like" of all the hotels, but they did build it so that makes sense:) I love staying here, but the price can be pretty steep, but if you can afford it, it is a great choice.
