My favorite item on all of VMK just happens to be an article of clothing, and it's the bird hat. However, since that's not a full costume, I guess it doesn't matter. Even though it's all I wear, the green superhero isn't my favorite. I actually prefer what my fiance's character is wearing which is:

Green Flip Hat
Green flannel shirt over a t-shirt (I don't know what the actual name of that is)
Black shorts
Black flips

They look really good together.

I wish they would come out with "costume generator", there would be about 6-8 different designs each for tops, bottoms, shoes and hats. You get to pick one each of top, bottom, shoe and hat and color them how you want and then you get to buy the costume you created.

To use the generator it could be a one time use pin or something that you get from an in-game quest so that every costume or costume part would be one-of-a-kind and therefore very rare.
