What's your favorite Christmas song?

Mine is "O Holy Night." It always makes me feel so calm and happy. Years later, I found out it was my grandfather's favorite song too. He died when I was 2. It's always made me happy that we share that connection. We're playing it at our wedding during the lighting of the Unity Candle.

My favorite secular Christmas song is "Winter Wonderland" because I love snow!!

Mine is Trans-Siberian Orchestra's CHRISTMAS EVE/SARAJEVO .

I also LOVE O, Holy Night. I also like O Come All Ye Faithful.
For contemporary, I like Silver Bells and for fun ones I like The Chipmunk christmas song and Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer. Call me sick, I know :confused3 but I can't help but sing along!

My kids love "Jingle Bell Rock" so I hear that a lot and now I love it too! Personally, I have always loved "The Little Drummer Boy" and also "Silver Bells".

Oh that's a tough question! I LOVE Christmas carols and songs so much, I'm already listening to them!! I try and make the Christmas season last as long as possible!

I love "Oh, Come, Oh, Come Emmanuel" and I also like
"Mary, Did you Know?" sung by Kathy Mattea and
"The Gift" by Garth Brooks, it gives me goosebumps.

For regular songs, I like
"The Angels Cried" by Alan Jackson and Alison Krauss, also gives me goosebumps! I also like
"Where are You Christmas?" by Cindy Loo Whoo!

It's too tough to pick just one. I could go on and on!!!!

"Mary's Boy Child". It is just beautiful. I have it on my Time/Life Treasury of Christmas CD's. Harry Belafonte sings it and I just love it. I pretty much like all the Christmas songs though.

Long time ago in Bethlehem, so the Holy Bible said,
Mary's boy child Jesus Christ, was born on Christmas Day.

Hark, now hear the angels sing, a king was born today,
And man will live for evermore, because of Christmas Day.
Mary's boy child Jesus Christ, was born on Christmas Day.

While shepherds watch their flocks by night,
they see a bright new shining star,
they hear a choir sing a song, the music seemed to come from afar.

Hark, now hear the angels sing, a king was born today,
And man will live for evermore, because of Christmas Day.

For a moment the world was aglow, all the bells rang out
there were tears of joy and laughter, people shouted
"let everyone know, there is hope for all to find peace".

Now Joseph and his wife, Mary, came to Bethlehem that night,
they found no place to bear her child, not a single room was in sight.

And then they found a little nook in a stable all forlorn,
and in a manger cold and dark, Mary's little boy was born.

Hark, now hear the angels sing, a king was born today,
And man will live for evermore, because of Christmas Day.
Mary's boy child Jesus Christ, was born on Christmas Day.

Oh a moment still worth was a glow, all the bells rang out
there were tears of joy and laughter, people shouted
"let everyone know, there is hope for all to find peace".

O Holy Night and The Little Drummer Boy, are both favorite's here. Actually we like pretty much everything Christmas related. SIL got us hooked last year on Bad Little Boy, it cracks us up everytime.

Oh! I love Christmas Canon by Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Grownup Christmas List, the song from Polar Express by Josh Groban (can't remember the name), and I just love Christmas music.

I feel the same way as beattyfamily. I love just about all of them!!!!
BTW, golfgal, I love that one that you posted, too.

I guess a few of my VERY favorites are:

Mary Did You Know?

Breath Of Heaven

What Child Is This?

O Holy Night

I love that one! My other favorites are White Christmas, Silver Bells & the Nutcracker

I love Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas is you", it's awesome! In fact, its one of the only reasons to watch Love Actually!

It's hard to choose one.

"O Come, O Come Emmanuel" has a very dear place in my heart. That was the processional we used to begin my HS choir's christmas concert. Thank you, need to dig out my "The Messiah" sheet book-going to the sing along this year, woohoo!

For fun songs, "Christmas Wrapping" by the Waitresses.

One of the many things that endears me about DH is the HUGE christmas CD collection he brought with him. We continued the tradition in that we each pick a new christmas CD every year.

I really like "Do You Hear What I Hear" also "Silver Bells" and "The Little Drummer Boy"

My all time favorite would have to be O Holy Night, it's such a beautiful song. Another of my favorites is If Everyday Was Like Christmas by Elvis. That one always makes me cry.

ok all you o holy night fans, you have got to get john berry's cd.
every year i buy several christmas cd,s, which drives my 16 yo dd insane(added bonus lol). so i have about 35-40 christmas ones, but BY FAR john berry is the best. he has a new christmas one coming out this week. i think the only place to get it is on his web site. but his o holy night cd can be found in those bargain cd bins that are set up in stores everywhere.
so who is your favorite christmas singer? i love this time of the year!

I've heard John Berry do O Holy Night and he does an amazing job on it.
Another John that sings O Holy NIght beautifully is John Denver, it's great!

Another O Holy Night fan. When I was a kid we had Tennessee Ernie Wms? record album with that song - and I have always loved it! It gives me chills!

I used to love "Carol of the Bells" but for some reason last Christmas Mark would cry everytime he heard it. It didn't matter where we were, or what was going on, big fat screaming tears would go down his face. And he is a relatively calm and happy baby! My neice got so mad that he started to cry during while she was watching Home Alone last year. You just never know when that song will come up! I haven't tested yet to see if he can handle it this year...
