I thought that it would be fun for everybody to talk about their favorite campsite. And see what makes that loop so special to you.
My family's choice is (1400) Big Bear Little Bear. We stay in this loop everytime we go, atleast once a year. Our children love this loop because of several reasons.

1: It is the closest loop to the campfire.
2: It is close to the Meadows pool.
3: It is close to the Meadows trading post.
4: It is close to the Arcade.
5: It is a easy walk to Pioner Hall and the Marina.

When I was a child and my family and I would come we had 2 favorite loops. The first one was (300) Cypress Knee Circle. I loved this loop because I could ride my bike straight out onto the trails that led to the beach. The other loop we liked is the (500) loop. It used to be called Terry Trail becaause that is where WDW first installed their rental campers, and they were all "Terry" brand campers. Do you guys remember those? Well anyway it is Buffalo Bend now. I don't remember what made this loop a favorite. I guess you could say any site is great because they all make your trip magical. I am looking forward to seeing what makes your site special.

It's interesting that you mention these two loops. 1400 was the first loop I ever stayed in. It was a high school end of season athletic trip. We had three sites and stayed in tents of the school bus we rode up in.

After high school my next few trips were staying in the Terry Trailers in 500.

Now, with Natasha we have to stay in pet lops so we usually request the 1900 loop. Most folks don't like to walk to the back two loops 1800/1900 so they are usually a little quieter, plus they are a little farther from the road.

We are going to try a preferred pet loop on our next trip to see if we like those.

We like the 300 loop as it is close to the boats and the store and yet far enough away no to hear all the foot traffic and boats... It is also a great loop for our dog as the sites are big and has a great pet walk.

The only time we have stayed at FW was this past June. We got a great site in the 900 loop - this loop is directly across the road from the Meadow Trading post and pool. Easy walk to the pool and traiding post, bike barn and campfire. Easy bike ride to Trail's End and the MK launch. There was a bus stop right outside the loop as well.

Last July I spent 3 weeks in the 1600 loop. It is close to the pool and sing a long. We don't have any pets, but my parents camp in their motorhome, so I like to be by them. (They help take care of the 3 year old). My favorite was 601 as it was close to all the above and we walked to the marina. The kids still talk about the time the movie was starting and I was throwing spaghetti in the disposable cups, plastic forks, canned drink and the kids running across the bridge to see Ms. Sundee at the sing along. It is the little things that make it special.

I love 1700! Close enough to the action yet far enough to feel a little more secluded. Nice size campsites, too. We always have a golf cart so distance isn't an issue. I've stayed in 300, 500, 1600, 1700, 1800, and 1900. The only ones I didn't like so much were 1600 (a little cramped feeling) and 1900 (a little lonely at the time).

All that said--I'd rather be in the worst site in the worst loop than at any other campground (or here in gray, rainy, gloomy, yucky Tennessee).

Wow, campging corgi! You really love where you live don't you? :earboy2:

We stayed in the 700 (at least I think that's what it was  ) loop once. It was a full hook-up. We loved the fact that we had so much room, but it's iffy on the satellite, and we must have tv. ;) We've stayed in loops 300, 400, & 500 some more than once, and out of those, we preferred 400. It just doesn't feel as crowded. I'd love to stay in 100 or 200 sometime, but unless they allow our "4-legged" little girl, we'll just have to keep discussing how nice it would be to be so close to the marina. :( We have a pool at home, and DS(12) isn't really into the campfire & sing-a-long, so the loops closer to the marina are much more convenient for us.

My first time at FW was this past Thanksgiving week. We stayed in the 2000 loop. We were site 2001, close to the bathrooms and the bus.

We didn't take advantage of much the campground had to offer, except the ponies, petting zoo, and restaurants. (We were there mainly for the parks.) Next time we'll probably rent a golf cart, if we plan to do more in the campground.

The 2000 loop was busy but quiet. Only pop-ups but some tents. The bathrooms were very crowded in the morning - mens' too! Our site was at the beginning of the loop so we only had one neighbor (plenty of space between us) and the cabins were behind us, separated by a stream. The main road didn't seem to give off much noise either.

We will probably camp again for our next trip so I'm enjoying reading the pros and cons of other loops!

We prefer the 100 loop. We have 3 boys and have always required a double stroller. That loop is best for us because we can push our stroller directly from the site to the marina and onto a boat without having to fold it. We can connect with monorails from MK. We also like the fact that we can catch any internal bus and it will take us where we're going. No waiting for a specific color. It is also close enough to walk or ride bikes to the pool and campfire areas.

We have been in 400, 500 Terry and 500 motorhome, 600, 900, 1000, 1100, 1200, 1300, 1400, 1600 and would agree that the most convenient loop for transportation connections would be the 100 loop. The walk to the Meadow Recreation Area is under 1/2 mile but it is a very pleasant walk, that is if you don't want to take the bus.

Will stay in any loop just to stay at FW.

Dec. '04 stay is just days away :D

I can understand where CampingCorgi is coming from. North Alabama has been a rainy, gloomy, mess for the past couple of days too!!! Fortunately, it's clearing up for my flight to WDW and Ft. Wilderness tomorrow!!!!

My favorite loop is 1500, specifically, Site 1503!! Large pad for my stuff, and close to the comfort station!!!

And yes, I am flying and tent camping!!!!

Carol

I'm here! In 1516. It is a nice size site, but a bit from the comfort station, but nothing I can't handle. I'm getting set up, taking my time. It's hot today!!!

Carol

Glad to hear you made it! Have enough fun for all of us!

54/79 and PM thunderstorms on Fri.

44/68 mostly sunny on Sat. and Sun.

As long as the wheels keep on spinning we will be there with the 2 grandsons.

We have stayed in 1506 twice and in 1503. Close the the comfort station, bus stop, the pool the campfire and the meadows trading post. I hope I get when we go back in August (We just decided to go and the countdown is wrong.)

We just stayed there this past March and LOVED it. We will definitely be requesting that loop again. My oldest DS loved being so close to the ponds to fish. The campfire and Comfort Stations were at our backdoor.

We have been in 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, and 1400. The last 2 times we were at 1444 (same site and I didn't even ask). I liked the 1400 because of location to store, campfire, pool, and bus stop (especially with the new bus system). The 100 site we had was great because we were right across from the path to the store.

We just returned from 10 nights in site 1415. So Perfect!!! I love that loop - close to the movie (but I didn't want to be *too* close), trails to the pool and trading post. This site is the best in the loop, I think. I couldn't wait to tell you all about it! It is on the opposite side of the loop from the movie pathway. It is very roomy. On our awning side, it is all tree-y and open, so you are not directly looking at someone's camper. The little canal backs to it, so it is private and tree-y in the back also. They said this site is one of the longest in the loop, so we had room for our 29'TT, our suburban and our 5 bikes all parked on the concrete :flower:

One day, we hopped on the sidewalks and then rode over to the nature trail through the woods on our bikes and rode to WL. That was superfun! When we first arrived, the kids were itching to get on their bikes and DH and I were trying to get all hooked up, etc... About 15 peacocks wandered to our site - the kids LOVED it - it was perfect timing til we were all ready to go out for a ride. We saw so much wildlife at FW - so much fun. Our entire trip was perfect!!!! Can't wait to get back! :earseek:
