We are doing Ariel's Grotto one day, and would love to hear everyone's favorite's so I can decide where to eat on day 2! Now, this will be New Year's Day, not sure if that will play in to things.

I'm currently considering Minnie & Friends at Plaza Inn, Carnation Cafe, and anything else. We would love to see characters, but it's not a must. Hoping for somewhere that serves pancakes and/or waffles, since our breakfast at Ariel's will not offer those items.

So, what's your fave?

We always have one breakfast at the Riverbelle Terrace. No characters, but the Mickey Mouse pancakes are so cute! (It's near Indiana Jones/Treehouse at the Rivers of America)

Carnation is yummy! But Minnie's will give you lots of characters and I'm pretty sure pancakes too.

While my daughter loves the characters, one of her other favorite places to eat breakfast is the Rainforest Cafe. It is usually not very crowded, the breakfast is tasty and surprisingly not very expensive, and sometimes you can even see the scuba diver clean the tank.

Storytellers Cafe is a great place for breakfast. Some characters too. Also agree with the Riverbell Terrace, especially outside if the weather is nice.

We enjoy all the character meals....but for a non-character meal.....we LOVE Carnation Cafe!! If you go during the week, you might even meet the famous Oscar! My son says their Eggs Benedict is the best he's had.....pretty high praise from a chef himself.

You won't see any characters here, but Steakhouse 55 in the Disneyland Hotel serves a fabulous table-service breakfast. I believe they open for breakfast at 7am. Here is a link to the menu.

I agree! My husband and I think that Steakhouse 55 has the best breakfast in all of DLR (really yummy pancakes, and it's an actual table service restaurant so you get much more food than you would at the counter service in the park). The one downfall is that they are a little slow in their service, but their food definitely tastes the best and is worth it! In Downtown Disney Catal has a yummy breakfast, but it's more expensive than Steakhouse 55 and not really worth it. If you want to eat inside the park then Carnation Cafe is probably the best (they have a small mickey waffle, but I don't remember that they have pancakes). Next would be Riverbelle Terrace (they do have pancakes), and then it's up in the air from there.

The best breakfast at DLR is Steakhouse 55, but that is at the DL Hotel so you will be giving up park time on a very busy day. Carnation Cafe is the park is also very good if you dont need the characters, but you will want to make a reservation. The Minnie breakfast has a pretty large cast of characters, but I don't remember much about the food.
