on my way home from work today, i was listening to a mix disney cd. whenever it gets to one song, i always get choked up and so badly want to be back at WDW.
as a true disney classic feeling "When You Wish Upon a Star" song by the original guy! As a reminder of the happiest place on Earth "Zip-a-dee-doo-dah"!
You can fly - I have a tiny little music box that has a crank (Like a jack-in-box) that plays you can fly- whenever I feel low I play the tune and it lifts my chin. I got it from the POP gift shop for $5 and I love it.
A Whole New World from Aladdin makes me think of Mickey's PhilharMagic. But Part of Your World from The Little Mermaid reminds me of co-workers and friends. Valerie and Alfredo would sing it in unison as we walked through Studios - Valerie in English and Alfredo in Spanish. At the time I tried to pretend I didn't know them, but now I miss it.
The original music from Journey Into Imagination (before the massacre of said ride) makes me tear up. Mainly because that was one of my favorites and I can't see it any longer.
My other is the soundtrack from DL's Remember...Dreams Come True. I rarely listen to that without getting a bit misty.
Oh and "Prince Ali" from Aladdin. I loved the Aladdin parade they used to have at MGM with that as the soundtrack.
Toward the end of Fantasmic (at least the DLR version), the Mark Twain comes into view festooned with giant splarklers, and Steamboat Willie Mickey at the helm. The music goes through a powerfull bridged key change and I get chills and goosebumps every time, even now just thinking about it.
On the flipside, the "We Are Siamese" song from Lady and the Tramp use to make me cry my eyes out as a little kid. I still don't care for it much.
