I just check our weather forecast and they said tomorrow would be "breezy". 20something degrees; piles of snow on the ground; bitterly cold winds. Not "breezy" in my version of Webster's!
Breezy should be on a beach somewhere, not as a description of a winter snow day. Breezy should have something tropical associated with it; not parkas and gloves.
I think the meteorologists are just trying to soften the blow. After weeks and weeks of this stuff, their Thesaurus is worn out.
