We promised our DD a trip, but we didn't really have a lot of extra cash available, so we've tried to keep our expenses down as much as possible. I am just curious how low everyone else has been able to go?

Here are our numbers:

$0--Three round-trip tickets from Chicago ORD to MCO (FF miles)
$70--Shuttle from airport to Swan
$0--One night stay at Swan (Starwood points)
$1589--Four-night POR with six-day park hoppers for 2 Adults, 1 Child, with free regular dining
$0--Tips for TS dining, PhotoPass, misc souvenirs, additional CS meals (Disney Rewards card has $300 on it)
$100--cash for tips to bell hops and Mousekeeping, misc.
$0--ME back to airport

$1759 total OOP cost for six days, five nights of Disney fun! Two weeks from tomorrow and I can't wait!

Our cheapest was last year :
2 adults & 1 (9 year old) child
6 nights Pop preferred room
free regular dining with pin code
6 day park passes
3 roundtrip airfair from DFW

$ 1865.38

plus we spent $133.90 for Insurance and $445 for the $600 Disney giftcard offer

Ours was $1100....we stayed a week at our timeshare, military tickets, free universal tickets, airfare and rental car. This was for three of us. We had disney visa rewards, and the majority of it was airfare and rental car and parking! It ended up as 550 for me because it was a trip with me, my sister and my son and we split it down the middle.

my cheapest Out of pocket expense would be coffee. I know it sounds odd but I save up my free coffee certs from starbucks and use them all on vacation I have like 20 saved so far this year. So while I'm on vacation my coffee is free.

5 days at Bonnet Creek rented 2bed/2bath timeshare. $400.

parking 2 days(used BC bus 2x) $30

4 Fl 4 day play pass (no park hopping- upgrade from the give a day) $82.

Food in parks and out of park restaurants $114.
(cooked breakfast in resort, packed lunch in park 2 days, ate dinner at resort 2 nites- wasted 3 hrs doing timeshare presentation for $100 amex gift card which bought two sit down meals in the parks.)

dog boarding $140

total $766. :cool1:

That was our spring break vacation in april. I brought groceries from home since we're only an hour from disney but I'd say we'd add another $50 of grocery budget if we added that. (it was that much because I bought treats like ice cream, corona & wine as well as chips & special snacks)

I'm curious ;):rolleyes1

I would probably say that for us we only paid about $145 for an 8 day rental of a minivan!
We stayed off property at Windsor Hills 5 people for about $1250
We only did one TS Character meal
3 CS meal (one was DTD Earl of Sandwich)
and the rest was meals prepared at the house! :)

We got free airfare with Wendy cups $32 tax
room at ASMo $49 night x7
SIL "shuttled" us to and from the airport
5 day tickets were $650
food $350 (anyone remember Connection vouchers?)
souvigners $75
Total was less than $1600 for 7 nights and 5 days in the park, BUT this was 12 years ago!

We liked to go once a year when possible so we save by staying offsite, avoiding TS meals and eating breakfast before going to the parks. Sounds like you did a great job with your budget!

$600. 10 nights at bonnet creek 2br/2bath timeshare eBay.
$816. (4). 8 day park hoppers with waterparks and more (yes program)
$250. Gas to drive from Pittsburgh Pa to Orlando
Ate breakfast at condo and sometimes dinner. Used disney reward dollars to eat in parks. Rode free shuttle from bonnet creek to parks.

Cheapest trip?

Two adults, 4 nights at a SSR studio, dining plan, 10 day park hoppers for $735 before tips and shopping. We used old tickets with a few days left on them and saved the park hoppers for another time. The price was an internet error but the company honored it.

2 RT flights using FF miles. Only had to pay the 9/11 fees which was $10 total for 2 people. A neighbor drove us to the airport and my daughter picked us up when we got back. We took ME and used Disney transportation to get around.

Tips amounted to about $40 cash (mousekeeping, ME drivers and skycaps). We used our KTTW cards for charging the tips at tableservice restaurants and then paid it off using gift cards that I had earned thru rewards programs.

Cheapest onsite trip that I ever took!

Free

Had a conference that had me in Orlando. Company paid for airfare, hotel and meals. Had an annual pass. Conference was done by 5pm and was held in the summer. Flew in a day early on the earliest flight out (the conference started at 8am) and flew out the day after the conferences (last conference event was 3pm). But it was just me.

For me, my upcoming trip in may...we are coming from canada going to disneyland, so for us this is amazing...

airfare for 4 and 10 nights in hotel-just under 1400

4-7 day passes into disneyland-FREE(airmiles)

So food and spending and that is whatever we make it..:thumbsup2 (but since i got amazing deals on flight and hotel, we will have more to spend without feeling guilty)

Thursday October 4, 2001 through Monday October 8, 2001 for two people.

Parking at Dulles Airport
Roundtrip tickets for two IAD-MCO
Rental Car
Four nights at Courtyard Hotel on Hotel Plaza Blvd

Total $519.

We had APs already. And since we tended to eat out a lot, we never considered dining costs.

Just me, 4 days with my best friend and her husband (cast member)

Hotel (his room discount at a Mod and then split 3 ways)- $200
Flight (NY to Orlando)- voluntarily bumped from flight back (waited an hour! :thumbsup2) so given a flight voucher for more than the cost of my round trip ticket $0
food (breakfast in room, brought sandwiches/snacks for lunch)- $50
new sweatshirt and other food/snacks- $100
Park tickets- $0 (used his pass + free ticket on your birthday promo)

Total: $350

Spending my birthday at Disney, Priceless :rotfl:

You really need to calculate per person because a family of 3 just simply can go for less than a family of 5.

Also, everyone calculates things differently. Some count a reusable AP as "no ticket costs" and others seem to calculate having DVC as "not paying anything for our stay!"

However, our "typical" cost for a week is:

$800- tickets
$100- parking (has been lower)
$300- gas (has been as low as $0 when DH's work pays)
$300- food (has been as low as $0 with Disney rewards)
$200- Condo (has been as low as $150)
$150- dog sitting

Cheapest vacation-$1000 for a week
Typical cost- $1,600-$1,800

For me, my "free" ap had been bought for a previous trip - the conference was unplanned when I bought the ap. So while the I did pay for the ap, it was a sunk cost in the previous $15k trip for ten people. That was an expensive trip......

I did a completely free trip to Disneyland thanks to my husband's employer the next year. They paid for park tickets, food, hotel, airfare, everything.

May 2010 was the cheapest for us.

A week at Seralago ~ $200
5 Free GAD tix to which we added the WPM for $50 each ~ $250
Gas ~ $300
Groceries out of my regular budget, and maybe $100 worth of odds and ends
Hotel on the road ~ $70

We had a blast that trip, and it was super cheap for a family of 5. Even though we were there for a week and only had 3 day tickets (Mk, BB and DQ), we were never bored. We did resort hopping, sightseeing and pool time.

So $920 total and worth every penny!
_____________________________

This coming trip won't be quite as cheap, but still pretty good. Splitting a 4 BR townhouse at Regal Palms with my sister ($250 each), getting my hotels on the road free with reward points, getting YES tix for my 3 youngest and myself ($600), one TS meal ($150) and gas ($350). My oldest and her BF are getting their own tix.

Getting groceries for the TH out of my regular budget again, and using my Disney Visa rewards for park food, so my total this trip comes to about $1350.
Still not bad for for a week at a resort with an onsite waterpark, and getting to go to all four parks. :goodvibes

6 days, 7 nights, last week. Value room at Movies.

$75 - the extra it cost when I didn't have enough rewards to pay for my share of the room and 2 adult 6 day tickets. We had free dining too.
$30ish roadtrip food
$102 Disney outlet
$15 face painting
$15 balloon
$12 extra when my rewards GC ran out for my nook cover
$30 in Disney dollars for DD for an extra bday treat (I had 80 something on my rewards card by the time we left for the trip)
$52 my share of the gas
----------

$331 and we have never come home with so many souvies!

Our first trip in 2007 was amazing.

Our son was 16 so it made three adults.

We got the fall free dining promo. This was the last year that appetizer, dessert, AND tips were included.

We paid $89.00 a night for our Value Resort (an All Star was reserved) however we got the free upgrade to Saratoga Springs Resort! :rotfl:

It was nearly two weeks of sheer bliss! :goodvibes It made for an amazing first trip down! :thumbsup2
