what's your budget weakness?

Random day to day would definitely have to be books. I would buy just about every new book that came out in the genres I like to read given the money to do so. I am a total book snob. I like to "own" my books, not borrow them from the library (novels that is, research books of any kind are fine to borrow). I actually prefer paperback to hardcover due to storage limitations and I am fastidious about spine cracks, wrinkled covers/pages, etc.

I have been really good lately...but I think that has more to do with the fact that a Walden Books closed down earlier this year and I bought a ton of books (imagine SO standing there with books piled high in his arms and the clerks were laughing at him [good naturedly] for being my shopping cart) at great discounts and have been living off those for several months.

As we are currently on a "budget" my blow money most often goes to books.

Outfits. Love the shoes, love the bag, love the whole thing! I have become obsessed with "What Not To Wear" :happytv: when I realized that I dressed like a middle aged frump (I'm only 38 but think I'm going through my midlife crisis :rotfl:) I started exercising, lost a couple of dress sizes and it has been straight downhill from there. I can't just buy pants, I need to buy the shirt, the cardigan, the accessories....AHHHHHHHHHH.

But I have a great looking wardrobe and can be ready in minutes time for just about every occasion short of tea with the queen.princess:

Travel, designer shoes and handbags, and jewelry are total budget busters for me.

Shoes.

I can often find shoes on clearance, but recently, since I have to stand and walk so much for work, I have to invest more money in fewer pairs. It was really hard to buy that first pair of $100 shoes, but my feet thank me for it. They also last longer, but it is still not easy to drop that money for ONE pair.

Eating out or delivery bc I'm just so darn tired after a day of work and travel (especial WDW of course!)

my weakness used to be Joan and David shoes until I got divorced and had to buckle down on everything.....then I got married again and got a beautiful little step daughter (4). My DH would agree, my weakness is buying little clothes for her. It's SOOOOOOOO addicting !! :confused3 and I often get shut off !! :rotfl2: Maybe I should go back to shoes!!!

Books are my downfall as well. DH got me a Kindle in Nov for my birthday and I was so happy! This morning I turned it on and there was a book I had pre-ordered. It came out today and I could read it on the train. Now I don't have to worry about running out of places to store my books!

disney, cloth shopping and nice resturants! :thumbsup2

Small weakness: Books, I would love to have a room dedicated to wall to wall books and the most comfy chair on the planet to read them.

Large weakness: Travel

as a big collector of Lady & The Tramp items and only if money was no object (like the Publishers Clearing House Van pulled up :goodvibes) I would get the set I have been drooling over for years, long out of production and sometimes found on eBay (for about $900) WDCC Lady & The Tramp's BELLA NOTTE SET & BASE .........someday (sigh)

Good organic food. Especially if its vegan. I could easily drop $50 at Whole Foods without even trying. If I had the chance I would just love to shop there every day!!!! I love me some whole foods!

Ok, since no one here know me I'll confess (although, my friends already know these are my addictions). My two big budget busters are travel and my kids birthday party. Yes, the latter is an unusal budget buster. What I spend on my kids birthday parties would send my family to Disney World every year at a moderate resort from the West Coast. But they (my preschoolers) & I really enjoy the party. It's a great chance to get together & share a wonderful day with friends & family. My splurges are for all those things others consider a waste at a party. Unique keepsake favors, a photographer & videographer to document everything and of course a fabulous cake. Yes, I could save money & just take my kids to Disneyland to have their silhouettes done, but I love to share by bringing the artist to the party so everyone can enjoy.
