I hardly ever see anything about the movies resort it seems like everybody is staying elsewhere and I thought it looks like a very good themed resort. is there something I'm missing?

nope! we loved it in June! Just isn't in our budget for the one night we need. It was completely refubished and looked great!! when we went 3/4 years ago it was terrible and i vowed never to stay there again. HOwever, going there for a wedding and limited budget we stuck to the ASMO and loved it!!

We stayed there last October and had a great time. . . No issue with it here!

love it - that is the only one we have stayed at
it is just AoA is new & is movie themed too so many people are heading over there

I went many years ago - Dec 2006, and although it was loud overall (cheerleading week), the area I stayed near the Mighty Ducks pool was actually pretty quiet.

We'll be going again for our Feb/March 2013 trip since my little guy loves Toy Story. I like the themes, though AoA is appealing too - the Little Mermaid room for his birthday wouldn't be as special.

I felt the same way you do when I booked our trip in 2009. There were so many negative reviews out there.

We had an awesome time! The theming was great and the kids went gaga. We spent our first day just walking around the resort taking in the sights. And this was before the rooms were refurbished.

Have a great time!

Last time we stayed at ASMovies was in 2003...we will be staying there again next month! Definitely looking forward to it :cool1:

I would stay there in a heartbeat, but one of the weeks we're going is Pop Warner. Otherwise I'd love to!

I love the value resorts, and love saving money at them, that means we can stay longer and go twice a year. We spend most of the time anyway at the parks. We have never had a bad moment at any value resort. :flower3:

We stayed at All Star Movies in 2002. It was the first trip with our kids. We all felt the resort was fantastic. We stayed there because of our budget (I like to stay onsite). The theming at the resort was wonderful. Our kids loved it there.

Nothing is wrong with the movies resort. In fact, for those with young children, those who are children at heart, and those who simply want the bigger than life feel of Disney and without the huge expense, it is fabulous. One of my favorites for themes alone.

This is my favorite value resort!! I love ASMovies! We enjoyed our stay here. I thought it was very "magical"! This was our first on-site resort. We have stayed here 3 times. Our favorite section is the Buzz/Woody section. We also have stayed at Dalmation, we loved that area too! I love the theme here. It's very Disney! :wizard: Enjoy your stay there!

we stayed there in March 2011. it was wonderful. we had nothing to complain about. no bus problems, we couldn't hear the neighbors, service everywhere was great. The food court had yummy, fresh food. I felt like we never left the disney bubble.
we're going back in october and staying at the POR FQ, but only because it will be 4 adult women. por has 2 sinks, which will help us all get ready in the morning.

I love All Star Movies. We stayed there last year and we were going to stay there for our upcoming trip but we decided to try AoA.

This is the most popular resort out of all of the All-Star options. They are usually a little more expensive because of its popularity. This resort fills up faster than the others and we usually find the other 2 more readily available when booking our trip and finding availability. We took DS13months recently and he loved the characters. We also stayed at AoA in May/June and he loved it there just as much....but not more than dad.:rotfl2:

We stayed at Music last year only b/c we need a suite, otherwise we would have def. stayed at Movies. We walked over and it looked great!

We loved the themes of All Star movies, staying there in Feb, 2011 for our first disney vacation with the kids

Biggest problem was at check in. Wife booked the Toy Story wing (we stayed at AS Movies specifically for the Toy Story theme as our boys were huge into them at the time) and she went in to check us in as I waited in the car with the boys. She came after and I could see in her something was really wrong. I got out of the car and met her halfway and she broke down in tears. They did not have our toy story room but instead "upgraded" to the dalmation wing. Well, that is not what we wanted so I went in myself, calm, cool and collected but fully ready to get a little loud and angry if necessary. Wife had put so much effort into planning and I was not about to have our disney experience turn sour that quickly. Luckily, I did not have to get loud or ask for management cause explaining the situation and that I needed it resolved, they somehow found a room available. Daddy saved the day. I was proud of myself.

The room is small and we felt crowded but the experience was great. The pool was fine and the dining area was good enough, though we spent little time there during our 5 night stay.

The only other problem was that on last day of housekeeping (we were checking out the next day), they somehow scooped up our 5 year old's little lamb that he had slept with since he was an infant. We made sure each day we fished it out of bed so it would not get scooped up if they changed sheets. It seemed like they "knew about it" since each day when we got back they had put on the bed pillow sitting up to sort of welcome him back. Well we got back late the last night and kids were out cold. In the morning, as we packed and got ready to check out, we turned that room inside out. There was no sign of it anywhere. DS5 was already freaking out ("lambie pie" sat with him whole drive down and he was looking for it to sit with him) and it became uncomfortable quick. Wife and I assumed housekeeping had scooped it up and that maybe we didn't ensure it was not in sheets previous morning. I went to front desk but there was nothing they could do then as it would be in transit to the laundering facility. I filled out a form and returned to the car. Having to go back out to the car without it in my hand and tell him they didn't have her was about the most heartbreaking thing I ever had to do. So I drove away with all of us in tears. I called pretty much every day to check the status for a month or 2 but lambie pie never turned up.

Other than the issue in the beginning and end, we enjoyed our stay and are considering and All Star sports this time. Currently have the AoA Cars suite booked for Feb 2013 but if it not a free dining week, we will likely split stays and stay at AS Sports for part of the trip to cut costs.
