What's with these tickets?

Hi! I just got our DL park hoppers in the mail and have a question.

At WDW, our hoppers are always thick credit-card plastic.. but these are thin paper with perforated edges. They seem a little flimsy, but they have barcodes on the back, so they must be the actual tickets, right? I just want to make sure they'll hold up for a few days.
what if they get wet or crumpled or something? do they have to stay in tact to slide through a machine, like at WDW? :confused3
any suggestions on how to protect them?

sorry for the silly questions. I just get nervous about spending that much money on something and it comes in the form of a scrap of paper.

Thanks!!

Yes they are the tickets and yes they need to stay in tact to be useable. I just keep it in my wallet and pull it out when I need to enter a park or get a fastpass, never had any proble with them getting wet or crumpled. You could always buy one of the little plastic card holder on a lanyard to hold them as I see many people with those so they must work.

I use the plastic pouch on a lanyard, its easy access, wont get wrinkled or wet, you can put all your fastpasses in there, and are sure not to lose them! HTH:thumbsup2

I also was the keeper of these Park Hopper tickets for our family & kept them in my wallet.

They are also used to get FPs, so I kept the flimsy PH tickets & flimsy Fast Passes (for our family) in MY wallet for safe keeping. :)

We keep them in a waterproof plastic card protector and only remove them when we enter and for the FP's.

The lanyards are also great for pin collecting and trading.:thumbsup2

Any way to get the credit card like tickets when purchasing the park hopper?

We got our kids parkhoppers from AAA in Feb and they were the credit card plastic things not the paper. Call your local aaa office. We eventually upgraded their parkhoppers to APs so I don't have them anymore. I really liked the plastic parkhoppers over the papers as we didn't have to worry about them getting wet or torn.

we ordered our tickets through the DLR website, they came with our package and the tickets are the hard plastic type they have Mickey on them and the castle.....

When I ordered just tickets through the DL website I got the paper ones too. I say pick up a lanyard and the plastic pouch. We kept ours in the envelope they came in and in a purse and they were fine. Then again, we didn't go anywhere we would get wet.

I second getting a lanyard with a plastic pouch to keep them in. We have never had a problem with a DL ticket getting chewed up or too worn to use. I will say one thing: DO NOT LOSE THEM!! Unlike WDW tickets that are linked to your room key/credit card (if you are onsite which most disers who go to WDW seem to be) they cannot be replaced. If you lose them, you are out of luck. This happened a few months ago to a WDW regular who assumed incorrectly (poor woman) that her lost tickets could be replaced by DL just the way WDW had when the same thing happened to her there.

we booked a package through Dreams Unlimited and also got the hard plastic cards. too cool. we were thrilled. but, we did see most people with the paper tickets at the fast pass machines.

It seems to just depends on where you get your tickets. I get my DL passes at the Disney store and they've had the hard plastic ones for a while.

I just got my WDW passes from an online ticket place and they are the paper kind! Yuck. But at least the paper ones fit into a scrap book better as they are flatter. :)

2 years ago my friend had an annual WDW pass that was paper. I don't know how it lasted her the whole year -- it got pretty worn out.

I also received the plastic cards with our package. I noticed on the back is a place for you to put your signature. Do we have to sign it to get into the parks or will they let you in even if it is not signed?

Ours are plastic - but I think they are the "sounvenir tickets" that come with a package.

At WDW the only way you get them on hard plastic is if you get them on your room key - otherwise they are paper-ish with a magnetic strip.

Not true. If you get them from the Disney Store they are hard plastic. Also, ones I bought from Disney.com online a while ago were hard plastic.

Even the "special event" one day tickets from Disney.com are hard plastic.
