What's with the collector's trend of shoulder plushes?

I have been noticing that the new Disney collecting fad is shoulder plushes and I have never figured out why shoulder plushes are so big now? Is it the new version of the Disney Mini Bean Bag plush? Because I have seen shoulder plushes of Disney characters such as Figment from Journey To Imagination Grogu from The Mandalorian Groot from Guardians Of The Galaxy and even Star Wars Galaxy's Edge has Star Wars shoulder plush characters as well. Was this shoulder plush fad originally started at Disney Parks and do you see the shoulder plushes become collector's items in the near future?
