what's up with the indiana Jones ride now?

it seems like the doors at the beginning never move now (it's always the earthly treasures room, and last time i went on it the boulder didn't even show up! What's going on? the Indy ride is my all time favorite there?

I totally agree....AND it is always broken! This last time (last Thursday) The first room did not say anything about not looking in the light, the door was already open and we just went it...and two other things were not working properly! I wonder what does go on with that ride...anyone know?!?!?

Interesting....my very first time riding it we broke down at the part where you're being shot at with the bow & arrows. We sat for almost 20 minutes then the lights came on and we walked out of the ride. It was a bummer to see the boulder at the end and I knew what to expect when I did get to ride it for the first time.

Oh and it seems WAY more shaky then ever! It was my favorite for so long, but now it just disappoints me everytime!!!

Indy broke down twice while we were in line to ride it last time we were there. It is known for doing that lately. I think it needs some work but DL is hesitant to take it down for awhile since it is so popular. People still run to it from rope drop, and it's been open for like 13 years....

Yeah, the door was just open for us last time too and I thought it was strange. That was about 7 or 8 weeks ago.

My first time riding it was last March & we made it all the way thru the ride & right before the last corner it stopped. I asked my son if it was supposed to do that & he told me no. Next thing I knew it started shaking (like an earthquake) and we jiggled for about 5 minutes before it started up again. Good thing we hadn't just eaten..... I'm looking forward to riding it again in a couple weeks....hope I make it all the way thru!! (everytime my boys ride it, it breaks down....that was the first time he didn't have to get off before the exit....lol) They still LOVE it!!

Last summer we only got on it once in three days because it was always broken. Later I found out there were some computer problems. In January one door was already open and the idol's eyes didn't do anything. I was sure they turned red or something, but I can't remember. Aren't they supposed to turn red? They need to shut it down during the off season and do some major reworking on it. It is such a good ride- first time or 100th time.

I was also sad about that ride in dec. It just isn't the same. Almost not even fun to ride anymore People will fuss if they close it but they will get over it as well. Just like SM! It needed the refurb and it is much better for it...Indy should get some lovin too.

Will someone explain this in more depth. It seems kind of ambigous from reading all the responses. What do you guys mean "it's a totally different ride"? Has the lighting changed? Has it been shortened? Did they take out something? And how is it so shaky? Do the vehicles just rock from side to side more? Are these mechanical issues?

From what I've experienced and read from the previous posts, it's not different in the sense that they've changed it, but it's different in that a lot of stuff is broken. Instead of trying to figure out which door you'll go into, it's just the same one. I haven't experienced a missing boulder or uber shakiness (it all feels the same to me), but I would like to go into the room where I can hopefully be beautiful and young forever!

Also what I think the OP is talking about is when you first board the ride and your jeep goes into the room where there are 3 doors. The 3 doors are supposed to rotate, so each ride is different and you go into a 'different room' each time. But I've noticed for awhile the doors do not rotate and the far left door just stays open and your jeep pauses, and then goes into that door.

If that is the case, and the walls have stopped rotating, then they may have very well done that for budget cuts.

Indy needs a MAJOR refurb IMO. It would be nice if they added some new stuff to it. I've always wished they would get Harrison Ford to do the voice overs. Maybe if they do a MAJOR refur, they could get him. Anyway, I think they need to make a couple of new rooms and area's you must go through or into. Maybe incorporate some things from the new movie into it.


All I know though, it that it needs a major overhaul. Out with the old. Bring in some new. But keep whats classic!
