I have been checking room prices for my dates in May 2016 for about a month now. We are staying off property but I have been trying to decide if we should stay on property. But here's the deal breaker before the park ticket increase I have been pricing deluxe resorts with the spring discount. The price for room only before the ticket increase was at least $30.00 an night cheaper then the price of room only after the park ticket increase. Ex: poly standard view room only (last week price) spring discount was $383.00. Now this week poly standard view room only spring discount $412.00. Can anyone explain this to me I'm confused.

That has happened to me, while I kept watching over a month it kept changing. Not sure what that is. Also I have found that prices for places like the poly standard view and animal kingdom savannah rooms have really jumped in price since we were there a few years ago. I understand that things go up but this has jumped right out of our price range, when in the past we went to those resorts all the time. Keep on trying maybe the $383 price will come back, that is not too bad. Prices are higher on friday and saturday nights.

was $383.00. Now this week poly standard view room only spring discount $412.00.

Was there a very recent price increase in room rates, possibly just ahead of the big summer discount which usually comes out in late March?

The jump from $383 to $412 is about 7.5% Have other room rates jumped up about this much?

It would make sense to raise the room prices at the same time they raised prices for park admission.

And they would certainly not be the first company to raise prices right before a "sale".

Yes all the resort hotels have increased in price.

Yes all the resort hotels have increased in price.

Was this very, very recently, like within the last few days (such as with the "surge price" park ticket thing they did) ??

And were the room prices increased in the ballpark of around 7% or so?

Yikes! I checked, and the rooms we had been looking at in late February (AoA suites) have gone from $269 (I think it was) to $302 for the same week. I'm not smart enough to calculate the percentage of increase, but it is over 10% for that particular room.

 Now feeling mad with myself that I had not booked the room only when we first began looking. Who knew the prices would jump this quickly?!?

My feelings exactly seams like a lot of talk about the ticket prices increasing but no mention about the room rates increasing as well.

I noticed the rate increase the same time as the one day park ticket change.

Did these rate increases hit everything? (for example, would value tend to get hit more with an increase than say, moderate or deluxe?)

I just plugged in the same dates and rooms as last years trip (BWI Deluxe-Club) and I'm getting about the same numbers as last year.

It looks like all resorts did get an increase. I have priced all the resorts that was included in the spring discount. Pop standard room was around $103.00 last week now its 113.00 this week. Riverside was $153.00 last week now $168.00 this week. Poly was $383.00 last week now $412.00 this week. So looks like it was a room rate increase across the board.

There was NOT an increase in the normal seasonal rack rate for rooms. There WAS a change in the spring promotion that was indicated when the promo originally started. XXX% off when booked by Feb. 28, but 5% LESS off when booked after Feb. 28. I think I remember the % correctly. It was "save up to 30%", now it's "save up to 25%".

This has happened before, offering two different discount levels depending on how far out you book. And the increase was indicated (at least it was on the TA website) when the spring promotion was first announced.

Yes, it was noted on the public website, as well.

I knew I would find out the answer here from someone....Thanks :)

Hold on...the rates I'm seeing (for the end of April) have the moderates AND values at over $200. What the heck is up with that (April 22-25)...

There are 2 cheerleading competitions at Disney: April 21-22 and April 23-25. We had problems booking value for the following week because of another competition on April 29- May 1.
