What's up with Plaza Restaurant for dinner ? ? ?

I want to book the Plaza Restaurant for dinner on our first day, Tues. Sept. 28, but there do not seem to be any seating time later than 4 o'clock. (I did some research before booking today - they seem to stop seating long before the park closes.) The park closes at 7 PM - why does this restaurant stop taking reservations so early? Has anyone ever been allowed to dine at the Plaza near park closing?

That Tuesday is likely a MNSSHP night. That means that all guests who haven't purchased a ticket to that event will be asked to leave at 7pm. I know there was some issue with people trying to get later ressies at the restaurants and then staying for the party. That may be why there is such an early cut-off. Just my guess.
