What's up with NBC lately?

NBC is all reruns tonight and West Wing wasn't on last night. What's up? Is NBC too chicken to go up against the Baseball Play-offs?

Seems like that is the logical explanation. I don't understand why they advertised new shows though.

CBS did the same thing after Survivor (can't do Survivor reruns of course) ... CSI was supposed to be a new episode, and ends up being a rerun.

It was very annoying to be all ready to watch the new episodes on NBC last night, and then realize that they weren't going to show new episodes. Not everyone cares about baseball (although I did watch it because of the Red Sox--and I was only excited about watching it because I saw a friend of mine in a commercial).

I work for an NBC affiliate and yesterday the network did decide to air re-runs for last night's lineup. The reasoning was that most people would be watching Game 7 and would miss new episodes of their favorite NBC shows. This way, no one misses out on the new episodes.

Because had the series not gone to 6 or 7 games, they would have shown the new episodes.

They really had no choice; here in New England for game 6, 71% of households watched the game. I'm *sure* that stat was even higher for game 7, and probably had similar stats in the NY area. The other networks wouldn't waste a new show on a night there would be a significant decrease in viewership.
