Ok thanks! .. so then for formal night it's dresses, is it dresses for semi-formal night too?

For women....cocktail dresses or nice pant suit....for men a suit or even a nice sports jacket with a pair of dockers and tie.

Some men wear tux's some don't...strictly a personal choice.

For men, formal means a tux, or at the least a dark conservative suit and tie.

Semi-formal can mean a tux, although a conservative suit and tie is more the norm.

For women formal would be a gown, or at the least a fancier cocktail dress.

Semi-formal would be gowns or cocktail dresses, or at the least "Sunday best".

For those who do not wish to follow the requested dress, there is casual dining at Topsiders every evening.

Yes, in an age appropriate style. We saw a lot of young ladies in their prom and homecoming gowns, and then some slightly older young women in "recycled" bridesmaids gowns...see--the bride said you'd be able to wear it again :)

All right, I'll be 16 when I go on my cruise, April 24, 2005.. should I go out and buy a cocktail dress or something?.. aren't they kinda expensive for just a one time thing?

Go to consignment shops and secondhand stores and buy a worn once prom gown. They are inexpensive if you buy them that way ($10-50). I'm sure you'll look beautiful :)

just look at my picture to get an idea of what some people do....wait til you see us THIS July!!!! ;)

My teen girls usually wear their prom gowns or homecoming dresses/gowns to Formal Night. They enjoy the chance to dress up and I don't mind buying the dresses because I know they get more uses out of them.

DD16 and I just went Prom dressing shopping recently and she picked a dress and we looked at each other and said...."Formal Night!!!"
