When my 17 yr old DD went to buy a 44-cent tube of acrylic paint today at Wal-Mart, in order to paint her model of a human lung for medical/anatomy class, they wouldn't sell it to her because she wasn't 18 or older.

Now, I completely understand why, but it just INFURIATES me that this world has gotten to the point that a few crazy teenagers (and older people) have ruined it for the rest of the human race because they use paint and chemicals to "huff" and "sniff"!

So, the good kids who are just trying to do a project for school have to suffer -- not to mention my inconvenience, as now I have to stop at Wal-Mart after work to get the paint and I was just there yesterday after work to get the styrofoam (not restricted item, just stopped to get it for her).

What's ironic is that this is a kid who has her own credit card, can drive a car, holds down a part time job and pays her own car payment and car insurance, but she can't buy a tube of paint...

GO FIGURE.

You can't buy that or spray paint here under the age of 18.

I think it is very sad that people have found a "bad" use for paint.

I know what you mean.......I had to find out the hard way, too.

This happened to us about a week before I went into the hospital for major spinal surgery. I could hardly move, walk, etc. BUT NO, I had to get out of the car and go into Walmart to stand next to my daughter, she had to hand the money to me (cashier said) so that I could hand it to the cashier............
