What's there to do for a 4yo at DHS?

We are planning our second trip to WDW with our 4yo daughter (and 11m son) and I'm wondering if there is enough for her to see/do at DHS to warrant a half day (our arrival day).

We will have 4 1/2 days in the parks and will definitely spend 3 in MK (since we will have to return to the resort in the afternoon for naps). On our visit last November we spent two days in MK and two days in Epcot (the second day was per my daughter's request since she loved it the first day).

I had planned on our arrival day being spent at Epcot with a second full day planned, but now I'm wondering if maybe we should spend our arrival day checking out DHS instead. She loves princesses and occasionally watches Disney Jr. - what characters would she see/recognize?

We are traveling Dec. 17-21 and have no desire to visit AK. :)

Thanks!

Disney Junior Live On Stage, Voyage of the little Mermaid show, Beauty and the Beast stage show. Classic Disney characters, Sofia the First, Jake from Jake and the Neverland Pirates, Toy Story characters, Wreck It Ralph characters, and Incredibles characters are all available for meets.

She may enjoy the muppets show also. Lightning McQueen and Mater, Phineas and Ferb are there also.

Probably most anything other than RnR and ToT. We were just there a couple weeks ago with 4 and 7 year old grandsons, had a ball.

It was our 4yo son's favorite park! Is she interested at all in Star Wars? Even girls can do Jedi Training and fight Vader. Girls don't only have to do Princess stuff. Sophia the First meets in DHS. Toy Story Mania is a blast.

Our almost 3 year old loved meeting woody n buzz, wreck it Ralph n vanelope, nod the monsters inc characters. They also have a character breakfast at hollywood n vine with sofia the first and doc mcstuffins (.only place on property you can meet her). My daughter also loved the muppets, fantasmic, disney jr show, and TSM. Also suggest the honey I shrunk the kids play area.

Yes loads, as others have said TSMM, DJ live on stage, Chacter meet n greets, Beauty and Beast show, voyage of the little mermaid, Muppets 3D.
Also don't forget Characterpalooza.

My grandsons liked Backstage tour, GMR and LMA as well as the ones mentioned above. I guess they were 3 and just turned 6, but the same age range :goodvibes The big hits were Disney Jr live and Star Tours.

HS is probably the second most kid friendly park for most (but not all) kids. I think everyone has already hit on what there is to offer. Disney Jr. is one attraction that a lot of people don't mention or understand because they don't have small children. But, it's an attraction that I guarantee every single young child in that room leaves laughing or with a smile on their face.

If you have access and its an emh day there is an awesome Disney Junior dance party too

Maybe we are different but my 4 year old twin boys could care less about DHS. They prefer Buzz in MK over toy story because it's easier for them to shoot the gun, they get bored in the great movie ride, haven't got into Star Wars yet and they are just tall enough now to ride the ride. Fantastic scares them (it scares a lot of younger children). We keep trying because they like the Disney Jr show and their Dad loves Star Wars but given a choice, they would prefer AK (which surprises me because they get easily bored at the zoo). They also love Epcot too and of course, MK is their favorite. DHS is last on their list at this point in their young lives.

Depends on the child. DHS is more show heavy, so the child generally needs to be into that. My kids are hit and miss on shows and like M&Gs but aren't massively into them, so DHS is probably their least favorite park.

TSMM is the only ride there that pretty much all kids will enjoy. GMR can be scary and is tough to appreciate for younger children. Star Tours is fine once they hit 40" but some might find it scary or not be interested. TOT can certainly be scary for that age group -- my 4 year old rode it once and doesn't want to go back (my 6 year old loves it though).

Point being that they really need more all ages rides in DHS. If nothing else, it would take some of the attention and wait off of TSMM.
