Hello :wave2:

Someone asked me this question yesterday and I really can't think of anything ... yet!!

What's the worst Xmas Pressie you ever got?

Not a xmas present but when my son was born a friend of my mums gave me an Arran knit jumper for ages 8-9 YEARS!!!! We're still unsure to this day whether it was a mistake and theres some poor kid out there who got a pack of bibs and booties!!

My best friend once bought me a size 10 jumper, this was when I was a size 18

It was a few days after Christmas and my mum said that she had a little pressie that she'd forgotten to give me - I was so excited when I unwrapped it, then my face must have fallen as it was a pack of three tea-towels, I will never forget the disappointment

My darling husband bought me a Dyson Vacumn Cleaner quite a few years ago....He thought I would be delighted as at the time they were quite new out and exclusive!!! :rotfl2:

My father-in-law took my mother-in-law out to her car and said what do you think. She looked and looked and thought great he's cleaned my car, but no that was wrong. He'd actually bought her alloy wheels :rotfl:

Me and DH were discussing this the other day as a member of his family have no idear when i comes to buying present's.That or they can't be bothered making an effort.

Last year i got a miniture bottle of bailey's(yum, yum) with 4 mint choc's in a box from them. :rotfl:

I wouldn't mind but i try and make an effort with everyone i buy for and at least get something i think they will like,it's not usually a really cheap thing.I said to DH if they are really unsure what to buy what's wrong with a voucher.Everyone came make ues of them at sometime.

Guess what their getting from us this xmas. ;)

Bet i sound like a un-greatful moo :teeth:

A friend once bought me an itsy bitsy little suspender belt - not what I would wear at the best of times but, as well as being a big girl normally, I was also very pregnant!! DH bought me a remote control for the tele once!!! I think he got the message after that!!! :rotfl2: Oh yes, and there was the time when my MIL bought me some knickers and said:"I got the biggest ones I could find"!!! No comment necessary!!!

About 3 years ago DH got me (and this is completely true) 6 different sets of smellies & five different types of chocolates. The only problem being that after 20 years together you'd think he'd remember that I AM DIABETIC. His excuse was that I love perfume etc (yes I do but I wasn't planning on opening my own shop)and that I do eat chocolate (yes I do but not in quantities that could put me in a coma!) I cried all over Christmas and didn't speak to him properly until late January.

The following Christmas I got a week in New York. So I suppose he's forgiven :rotfl:

My DH is really rubbish at buying presents, here are some of his past surprises!

An alarm clock (the first ever present he bought me :confused3)
A dustbuster
An ironing board (but sweetheart, it even has it’s own seat )
And the best - a steamer (when I didn’t, and still don’t, cook :rotfl:)

Because I love him dearly I've made life easier for him, I now do him a list of things I’d like that way I get a surprise but best of all I also get somethings I really want :teeth:

Mind you it runs in his family, I have had some really duff pressies from the rest of his clan over the years

My Dad normally gets me good ones e.g.

An obscure Jean-Claude Van Dam video as he knew I was a fan? (I didn't know myself :confused3)

topped only by

'Goldeneye' - no not the Bond film (I'd have liked that) but a documentry on Ian Flemming staring Charles Dance.

I try and steer him towards money or vouchers these days.

There are some 'great' gifts on this thread :rotfl:

My dad bought me a 3 pair pack of Littlewoods tights and to make it worse they were two sizes smaller than I needed!

Now this thread has really cheered me up as I am on holiday today but have come down with a sickness and you know what bug.
I don't think my DH has ever got me anything I didn't like to be honest but then I have to give him a list.
This year though my MIL has bought one of those big batterry powered cars for DS, not happy as we have nowhere to put it as we are living in rented whilst we are searching for a new house. So this means something big and bulky to move.
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

DH always buys me great gifts, He has excellent taste. But my mum, she always buys me at least 3 smelly sets :confused3 And the first year we were married she bought us a box of 36 walkers crisps and wrapped that up :confused3

When i was younger one of my aunts bought me the same book 3 times  The secret garden.

I cant think of anything really specific, I give DF a list then drive him to the shops, then steer him into relevant the shops, then and only then do I turn my back!

For my birthday this year, late the evening before he drove to Tesco's & came back with a card and Mary Poppins DVD and gave it to me on a carrier bag!

:flower:

For our first Valentines my dh bought me a hole punch! They dont celebrate Valentines in Albania and I dont think he quite understood the concept of it! For every Xmas and birthday he now gets a list from which to choose!

The best present I ever got was a smoke alarm from my M - I - L :confused3

Mind you she asked for a bag of compost one Mother's Day so that shows what she thinks a good present is :rotfl:
