I'm starting to baby-sit in about a month and I'm a little nervous. pirate:

Nothing really bad. One time I baby sat these really annoying kids, and their parents were out two hours later then they said they'd be.

(this is polysisterchick)
i've been babysitting for a few years now and basically it's when the kids started to play jump on Rachel's back

I was the one being babysat. There was this one night with these babysitters that was just a disaster. I was at my dad's, who was currently dating someone at the time. They lived together, and she had 3 kids.

So anyway, my dad, his girlfriend, and her oldest daughter went out for the night. Me, and my dad's girlfriends two youngest daughters were being babysat by two girls. One of them brought a scary movie, which I was stupid enough to watch. Anyway, it was this thing one of my babysitters had planned. It was this thing where this demon looking guy came on, and started two countdowns of numbers. I can't remember what the whole thing was about. The only thing I remember about that time, is the baby sitter screaming, "OH MY GOD THERE HE IS!", and pointing out the window. When I looked at the window freaking out, she ran out the door, shutting off the lights as she went. It was at night, so it was pitch black in the room. When I tried to run out, she was holding the door shut. She finally wised up when she heard me sobbing in terror inside. Well later that night, the two babysitters took the three of us to some party at like 10:00 at night. There was so much inapropriate stuff going on at that party, that it was ridiculous, and I have no idea why they decided to take us there. Luckily a few of the guys at that party wern't complete morons, and told them to take us back home. When we got back, my dad, and his girlfriend were home. God were the two babysitters in trouble.

:scared1: wow thats pretty awful :-X

OMG MUNKY!!! Is that really true???? HOW AWFUL!

My worst babysitting experience would prolly hafta be when either
A)the little 4 year old peed on the floor and I had to clean it up or
B)when I was babysitting my little brother and he couldn't sleep and I came upstsairs to take care of him and he had a WICKED HIGH temperature and a HUUUGE earache and he couldn't stop crying and I had to call my parents at the restaurant (I was really young) or
C)When my aunt kept calling the house but not leaving a message (I wasn't allowed to answer the phone at that time when no one was home) and I was really scared and crying and MY LIL BRO was the one who had to comfort ME! (I'm such a baby, hahaha, and I was again, young)

^^^^Yeah. Probably explains a few things too. :rotfl:

But needless to say, we never saw them again.

Yeah.

And I hate the 40 second rule too. It should be reduced to like, 30 seconds. :confused3

My worst experience was when one of my friends came along to babysit (she was staying at my house at the time and I didn't want to leave her at home by herself with nothing to do) and after dinner I asked her if she could start the dishwasher. Well, we went downstairs to play with the kids, and I came up to get a drink of water or something....and the dishwasher was OVERFLOWING!!!! It was a big shock to me, so I asked her how she started the dishwasher. It turned out that instead of using normal dishwashing soap, she used the liquid soap that's all bubbly that you are supposed to handwash dishes with. :sad2:

Now isn't THAT an intelligent friend!!!

Oh wait.....

I'd prolly do something like that too :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Needless to say, she hasn't babysat with me again... :rotfl:

I'm a regular babysitter (mondays wednsdays & saturday morning)

THe first time I EVER babysat the kids (it was untill 1am!) The little girl threw THE biggest temper tantrum ever! It was SO scary and I didn't know how to deal with it. So I called my mom just to calm down and get some advice. (The little girl thought I was calling HER mom and immediately calmed down)

But she must've been testing me because she hasn't been as horrible since.
(she still has her moments, but I know how to deal with her now)

Best of Luck babysitting! :smooth:

I've done that. The kitchen, dining room, and living room had bubbles in them.
:rotfl:

Munky, omg. Thats...wow.

I don't babysit. I did once. And there were several of us and it still ended badly.

ooo I have some babysitting stories...

I was babysitting for my neighbor's kids. There was 4 of them, but the oldest was 11, and she was helping me with the other 3 (ages 5,6, and 7 - two of which are ADHD). So i'm making them Iced Tea, and I have the tub of the sugar stuff on the counter, and I turn around for literally two seconds to get glasses... I turn back around, and the 6 year old is on top of the counter, pouring the tub of sugar all over. ohboy. It took me FOREVER to clean all the sugar up. lol. I made like $12 an hour though, so all was good.

I was babysitting 3 kids: a boy (8yo) and 2 girls (5yo and 3yo). When it was bedtime, I helped them put on their pajamas and brush their teeth and I read them a story and all that. Surprisingly, the problem was not with the oldest or the youngest, but with the middle child, the 5yo girl. She really wanted to talk to her parents before she went to bed, and though I tried to convince her she didn't have to, she wouldn't give up. So I called both cell phone numbers the parents gave me, but I couldn't get a hold of them. So the girl starts crying, of course. I try again. No answer. Well at this point she's bawling and starts coughing really hard. She coughs so hard that she throws up. I then try to rush her to the bathroom. Of course she walks slowly to the bathroom, throwing up several more times all over the floor, pretty much anywhere but the toilet. After cleaning her up and calming her down, I took all of them back upstairs and told them just to relax in their rooms (at this point the other 2 kids had also come down). I finally got a hold of the parents and told them what had happened, and they came home. Then I called my parents and told them what happened, and my dad, the saint that he is, offered to come over and help me clean it up (I was babysitting right down the street). It was the grossest thing ever, especially since I was trying to keep from throwing up cuz of the smell. Luckily they had hard wood floors.

The only other bad experience I had was my very first babysitting job. The oldest kid, I think he was 7 or 8 at the time, would not go to bed. Just completely refused. He was still up when his parents got home around 11. His mom made him apologize to me and he made me a card, haha.
