I am planning a trip in March ''home'' to SSR. Haven't booked it yet, was waiting for my add-on :) Calling tomorrow. Dad needs to get another trip in w/his AP.
I am about 10 months out, shouldn't be a problem, right?
I have never been to WDW in March. How are the crowds? I wouldn't think they were too bad, most Spring Breaks start in April, right?
And I've checked out some weather sites, average temp hovers around 80 so I can live with that! God knows it won't be 80 in March in Beantown :rotfl:
And so far what I've seen for airfare, not very impressive. $$$
TIA for any insight.

Most college spring breaks are in March as are many school districts from around the country with the exception it seems of the northeast. The only thing that will be helpfull (in terms of crowds) is that Easter is in April next year. Many schools plan their breaks around it.

We always go the last week in March/first in April because that is always our spring break. This year we did not because it was Easter, which is nutso.
Ressies should not be a problem.
Crowds are very manageable but MK is always crazy on the weekend.
Weather is in the 70's usually, sometimes low eighties. Our kids swim when the temp is in the low 70's, the adults just have poolside beverages.

Have fun!

Hey, I am going March 12-17 and staying at the BWV. Maybe we can get a Mini-DIS meet started?

We'll be there... March 18 - 25th.

athena, are those new points burning a hole in your pocket already? :cool1:

We were in the "World" this past March. March 8 to the 16th. It was very busy especially during the second half of the 8 days. We were able to do the four parks and DTD. As long as you go with the expectation of having to wait for some of the larger ride lines, you'll do just fine. Go and enjoy!

We went March 04 the 2nd week and it didnt seem that bad. We stayed at OKW and was able to book the ressie in Jan. The crowds were manageable also. We typically go in early Dec so to compare March is a little more crowded but warmer. Unless you hit major college spring break you should be fine.

Hey it must not have been too bad, we are returning next March, 2nd week again! Braves will be in full swing by that time at Cracker Jack Stadium at WWOS.

We are booked for March 5-10 next year to celebrate DH's 60th birthday as a pre-spring training trip to Fort Myers to see the Twins spring training camp. I KNOW it will be warmer than home, and the crowds wont bother me too much, since I we will have been there in January, and I know I'll be back again in December.

Oh, I didn't even think of that! I would love to take Dad to a Spring Training game! Thank you so much for mentioning it!!! :cheer2:

We were there this year from 2-26 to 3-5, and the crowds were very light (this was NH school winter vacation week, one week after MA and about 46 other states). We were able to ride multiple times on even the most popular attractions, and rarely had need for fast passes. As for the weather, being from the northeast, it was SIGNIFICANTLY better in The World than in NH (I think we missed at least three healthy snow storms during that stretch).

Hope this helps, and enjoy your trip home :goodvibes :goodvibes

Thanks! This does help! I'll actually be arriving on 3/5/06 so I don't think crowds will be too bad!
But a little pixie dust wouldn't hurt :wizard: :wizard:

We always go in March, usually the end of the month because a lot of schools in the midwest have a fixed week for spring vacation, including us. The weather is usually warm, 70's, but it is almost always crowded. This year we went the first week in March and it was cold!! Temps in the 50's, which was only 10 degrees warmer than Michigan! The crowds were just as bad, due to college spring break the first week in March. The evenings were really nice and quiet, however. It rained a lot during our vacation, but we met two couples who had already been there two weeks when we arrived, and they said the weeks in February had actually been almost hot, and sunny. President's Week was awful--we arrived when that group was going home, and it must have been bad because we had to wait in the parking garage for a car for nearly an hour!! :sad2:

We've gone in March for the last 7 years and can't complain about the crowds. It really depends on Spring breaks (Easter). I find the weather to be iffy at most. Day temps are usually pleasant, but the evenings can be (and have been) chilly and or cold. It's tough to pack clothing to be prepared...you can never be sure of the temps. This past March (8-18) was cold, and it rained quite a bit. And then again.....the weather has been unusual all over the world this year. Still waiting for Spring to show it's face here in the North. :umbrella: :cold:
