will it be warm enough to go swimming and wear shorts::yes:: or will it be pants and long sleaves for the week:(

I know it varies greatly, but the past 2 years we have gone it December and it has been pleasant - in the 60s-70s during the day and cooler at night (light jackets).

Keeping in mind that we live in Florida:

We have gone swimming once or twice in 6 or 7 December trips (It was usually a heated pool at high noon!) ;) Most Decembers it is just tooo cold for us. However, my Yankee husband wears shorts during the day, and usually changes to pants in the evenings.

HTH! :goodvibes

We've been to WDW several times at the beginning of December (latest we've been there has been the 20th or so)

The weather has varied greatly.
One year it was beautiful, 80's and sunny most of the time.
One year it was 70's and rained....constantly.
One year it was chilly and we'd wear coats and hats to the parks in the evening.
This last December I never wore shorts. Only jeans. Dh even wore FLANNEL LINED JEANS to MVMCP!

There's no way of telling. Prepare for everything. :)

It could be either cold or warm or in case of our last vacation it was both. Hot, humid and 85 for 2 days, mild, sunny and 75 for 3 days and cold, windy and 45 for 2 days.

I'd pack for everything and not plan on anything that is going to be determined by the weather.

I think we were there at the same time:thumbsup2

We were there from Dec 7th - 10th this yr and we didn't even bring shorts because of the weather forecast. It was about the same temps that we were having in NJ the one day (granted it was exceptional warm in NJ this past Dec, but still). I do believe that one day we were able to wear short sleeves. We went to MVMCP on the 7th and we actually wore sweatshirts and windbreaker type jackets. Dd wore her fleece ear warmers and gloves.

As you can see from my picture below that was on the 8th, the night we had booked our carriage ride and we were chilly!!!!

Bring a little bit of everything and you will be fine. I was very proud of how I packed and didn't feel that I went overboard with the warm clothes. We just wore layers and put on or took off as needed!

The last time we went in early December was 2004 and we had moderate winter weather for most of the trip (jeans, long sleeve shirts). We thought about swimming but the cold walk back from the pool to our room was enough to make us decide to nap instead of swim for our relaxation.

I do advise you bring at least a pair of gloves (a hat and scarf would be even better). We had one night at Epcot where we were miserable, sitting on the cold benches for the Candlelight Processional and then fighting the wind and chill while walking around. In the end, my mom got an ear infection and had difficulty on the airplane ride back home.

We had plenty of layers but simply forgot to bring something for our hands, neck and head. An extra shirt or small baby blanket would have been nice to sit on instead of the cold metal benches.

Also, if you are in Epcot, get your coffee or hot chocolate prior to the Candlelight Processional letting out. Otherwise, the lines are incredibly long and they run out (yes, after standing in line we were told they ran out of hot chocolate mix!)

Have a great time!

Marsha
