It's snowing here --- we're expecting up to 8 inches of snow by noon tomorrow..... it's been cold, wet, icy..... I'M SICK OF WINTER!!!!!!

So --- what's it like in WDW today???? (anything is better than THIS! )

Friday: Mostly cloudy with showers becoming likely in the afternoon. High 77F. Winds WSW at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 50%.

It's nicer here in Ft. Myers! Come on down!

Oh, that sounds nice! We`re in the beginning of a coastal snowstorm here today too. Leaving soon for WDW and ending our trip in Ft Myers Beach......... never been there before! I`m bringing an extra suitcase just for the seashells I plan on bringing home. Have a great day,Bev

I agree - I'm so tired of winter! We too expect up to 8 inches of snow today, and we don't head off to WDW for another 38 days (but who's counting...!!).

:(

I am glad that Florida is warming up, though! :D

It's snowing like crazy here right now. Feb 26th can't get here fast enough!!!! I'm tired of cold air blasting in my face:mad:

we woke up to 6-7 inches of snow today, wish i was going to Disney, my BIL and SIL will be leaving at 6:00 am in the morning, wish it was me:(
misty

Right now, 11:19 a.m. EST, it's 68 degrees and hazy with an expected high of 72. I set the desktop weather program that I downloaded from the Weather Channel (www.weather.com) to Orlando so I can see what I can expect for my March trip.

I'm looking out my window at a winter wonderland and dreaming about WinterSummerland!

Cool! Go over to Sanibel for a day, you will find many more shells there.
I lived near you in Falmouth for a short while about 20 years ago while I was in college. Don't miss those winters! <G>

Can I really depress you and tell you we had a high of 86 down here in South Florida! It was partly cloudy today-hey c'mon down if you want real warm weather, but oh, wait, we're supposed to have a cold front tonight with only a high of 75 tomorrow, OH NO!!:p :p :p

Sending some warmth and sunshine your way:p :p :p

Cheryl, it`s still snowing here, and a foot already on the ground! I have lived here on Cape COd all my life, and really hate winters like this! I spoke to a friend in Orlando who drives a cab (and is our driver from the airport to our resort....... always!) . she said it was raining and cold........... my request to her was to get rid of that weather and get back sunshine and blue sky, please! It`s a hard life for her since 9/11, wish she had it easier! Sanibel is on our list of places to explore, thanks for the tip. We heard there`s a wildlife preserve there too. Have a 12 yr old who will enjoy that I think. Have a great day............. can`t wait till we arrive in your sunshine state!Bev

It's sunny and warm today in Sarasota, FL....but I grew up in Franklin Park! Family still lives there! It's funny to hear how its snowing there....I remember those winters!

Yes, the preserve is called Ding Darling. She will probably like it. My daughter went there last year for her 8th grade field trip. It's nice to rent biles in sanibel. Also if you are in town on a Monday they have great crab races at Tween waters Inn on Sanibel, and on wednesday nights at the Sanibel Harbour resort which is before the causeway bridge, it's a lot of fun for kids & adults.
Here look, it will be warm when you get here!!!

Monday (24 hours): Times of sun and clouds. Highs in the low 80s and lows in the low 50s.
Tuesday (24 hours): Plenty of sun. Highs in the low 70s and lows in the upper 40s.

Email me if you need any more info! :)

GREAT WEATHER, but now back to the cold. Oh well, only 9 more months until the next WDW trip:cool:

Ahhhhh -- sun... 70 degrees.... *sigh*

As I sit at the computer, I'll try not to look out the window at the snow :(

I'm only going to think about our trip in two weeks!!! Yippee!!!

I just hope WDW doesn't have a sudden cold snap while we're there..... I've convinced my mom and MIL that they'll be WARM!

:D

I hope it stays warm for our trip in two weeks!

Does anyone know how long it takes to get to Sanibel from WDW?

I live about a mile from the causeway to Sanibel, it takes me exactly three hours to get to WDW. So depending on how far on sanibel you go, alllow 3 1/2 hours for mid island.

Wow, we have coinciding vacations planned. We are heading to WDW on Friday, the 14th, staying 4 nights, and then heading to Sanibel Island for 1 week. Sanibel is beautiful. I've been there at least 10 times. I believe the drive from WDW to Sanibel is about 3 hours. My husband and I had to make the drive during our honeymoon. What time are the crab races? I'd love to take my daughter to see them!

They are so much fun, whenever I have company I take people to the races. the guys has a bunch of hermit crabs, you pay $2.00 to race a crab. You name the crab, he tells some jokes throughout the race, kind of drags it out. I like the one at Sanibel Harbour resort the best. You can order drinks or dinner. The early show is for kids, then they have an adult show too. You can win the pot money, a tee-shirt, a golden kazoo too.
Hey if you get together on a date, I'll meet you there. Either of you have a lap top?

Hi again....... no laptop here, but we`ll be at the Outrigger in Ft Myers Beach from the 17th-21st. Squeezing in a race or 2 at Daytona between WDW and the beach! Will our 12 yr old son love the beach? Or the crab races? We`re watching the races at Daytona on tv......... they are all wearing jackets and gloves! Yikes, I hope it warms up this week. But then again we have a foot of snow on the ground and maybe more before we leave Wed morning. Wish everyone a great vacation, and happy shelling on Sanibel. Bev

On my way back up to PA from FL (on a laptop in a SC hotel)......the weather was perfect park hopping weather!!!
We managed to avoid one drop of rain all week!!!! It was such a comfortable temp to tour the park. Perfect temp. Not too hot nor too cold. PERFECT!!!
