What's the trick to try to get 4th FP quicker?

in a park with tiering, I remember reading that you can cancel unwanted FPs to try to get your 4th FP earlier in the day, but I can't remember exactly what to do. I have an early FP for Soarin and I'd like to try to get one for TT if possible. Do I cancel the unwanted tier 2 FPs after I enter the park before using them? Thanks!

There have been reports of others canceling prior to entering the park. After using their 1 or 2 FPs, they have been able to get a FP for either tier when at the kiosk.

You can even wait until after you ARRIVE at the park to cancel one or two of your unwanted FP+ for that park.
Just do so BEFORE you actually use the first FP that day.
