What's the Shortest Trip you have Planned that involves Flights?

Rarely go longer than 3-5nights these days. Last trip was a solo connected to a conference. Stayed at POR which is one of my favs. Parked hopped to all 4 parks over 2 days.

My daughter and her bf are flying out Sat. and returning Monday. Her birthday is Sunday and his is today. He surprised her this past Friday with a weekend trip. They literally booked airfare and hotel this past Friday. They even got tickets to MNSSHP. We live in MD. So booked on Friday and are flying out the next Sat.

we are going for 4 nights, 3 1/2 days at the park... we have free tickets though. I sometimes wonder if we are wasting the free airfare on such a short trip but I wanted to go to the Halloween party.

My daughter and I went for a weekend just two weeks ago specifically for the party and to book a free dining bounceback for next June! We had a GREAT time! We managed to get to all the parks except Animal Kingdom and we even made it to Downtown Disney!

DH was teasing me yesterday morning when he realized it was mid-September already and I didn't have a trip planned to WDW that involved the MNSSHP since I "tricked" him into the party for the last three years. Then next thing I know, he's pricing up a flight for me and looking at what is available for DVC room...only one night at OKW is available at the 31 day mark.:love2: He isn't able to go....or he's just trying to get rid of me.

I called my cousin to see if she wanted to go with me and was surprised she said yes (after she said I was nuts). She hasn't been in 20 years and hasn't flown in 30 years.

So we are flying out of NY for one night, just to go to the Halloween Party. I've never booked a Disney trip for less than 7 nights so this is really crazy but we are excited. It's going to be an exhausting trip. I just wish we were there a little longer so I could show the newbie around. This may spur her on to book her own trip though...she loves Disney but her kids were never interested. Although the crowds at the party could scare her off.:rolleyes2

So what is your shortest trip which involved flying and where were you flying from?

Laura

Just today we booked a trip for Halloween day. Our flight arrives at around 0915 and leaves at 2030 that same night. Yes it's crazy, but you only live once. :)

I have a SW credit card to get lots of those freebie miles. I would probably spend the money on the flights if I didn't have this, but to me being able to fly free for mini trips is just such a wonderful perk. Mini trips to Orlando, flying DS to see his grandparents for a few days on college breaks, etc. are such wonderful things to be able to do without breaking the vacation budget.

This makes me feel better about my trip! I'm driving two hours to Pittsburgh after class and flying down Thursday afternoon. Then I fly back Sunday evening and have to drive the two hours back for class the next day!

Solo birthday trip during one of the years you could get free admission on your birthday. Flying in from Ottawa Canada.

My birhday was on a Wednesday. On Tuesday my wife and three kids had birthday cake with me for breakfast. I then headed to the airport for noon and flew to Orlando. Went to the MVMCP that night.

Next day was my birhday. I paid to upgrade my free birthday pass to a park hopper and spent the day at Epcot and DHS. Ended the night at the Boardwalk

Next morning had a 7am flight back to Canada.

Total time away from home was about 48 hours.

My husband and I once flew to Vegas for for a night. Left NY sat am and returned late sunday. It was amazing and so random!!!

Another time we went to Puerto Rico (it was a business trip) for only 2 nights. That wasn't as crazy tho.

Our shortest Disney trip was in 2011 for 3 nights. Never again!!! It was just too short, but we wanted to go AND see as much as possible in the short time we had. We did AK/HS the day we got there, MK/EP the next day, Universal/IOA th following day, and then flew home the next.

I haven't read the whole thread, but I read about a dad that took his toddler on a one day trip. He lived in Georgia, short plane trip. Left early early morning, just had a back pack/diaper bag. Spent a long day at MK and flew back late at night. I believe the child was young enough so no airfare or disney ticket needed.

The shortest trip I've done was the first time I took my kids solo (they were 4 and 6) so we just went for 4 nights. It was really fun, and we had AP's so didn't sweat if we didn't do too much in the parks. We had gotten a great rate at the AKL, and I had wanted to stay there!
Since then, our trips are always at least a week. Longest was off site 3 years ago, for 15 nights.
I think one night is too short; have you looked into a value resort or something?

We just came back from a five day trip in September and now going back for a four day weekend. It all comes down to what you want to do, we are only doing Magic Kingdom this weekend trip.

I flew from Alaska to WDW for the first 24 hour party. We stayed at POP the night prior (after getting there at 8:00pm), got up at 4:30am, dropped our bags at luggage storage, went to the parks for 24 hours, left MK to POP, picked up our bags and headed back to Alaska. A 72 hour trip and we were only at WDW for 33 hours of it. The rest was spent flying and in airports.
