What's the Shortest Trip you have Planned that involves Flights?

Im flying in a saturday night at 8ish, landing at 11, then flying home a tuesday night at 8pm to get home for midnight ish. Im flying from boston with directs each way :) so 2.5ish days with flights

Our shortest trip is the one I talked my husband into just last week. We usually go for 1-2 weeks, and this time we are arriving at 6 pm Monday, doing MVMCP Tuesday, one day MK, one day DHS and flying out Friday morning. Gotta see those Osborne lights!

I do a lot of short trips. Ever since I started dated my DBF (long distance) I haven't had enough free vacation time to go for a week.

My DBF, his bro, SIL and niece are headed to Orlando in Oct for a softball tournament. I'm flying down Fri night-Mon am to take his niece to MNSSHP that Sunday. It will be a short but fun trip.

In Dec I'm flying down Thursday night and staying til either Sunday night or Mon am to meet up with my parents and take in the Osborne lights one more time.

I have done one night hotel stays with flights but always for work trips. Like when I have to go to DC and fly down on a 5 PM flight get there that night have dinner, sleep, go to an 8 AM meeting that ends at 5 and catch a 7 PM flight back home.

For a vacation I think I would want a longer trip if I was going to pay to fly.

just got back from our weekend trip--arrive Sat, MNSSHP Sun night, left late afternoon Mon. We drove (11 hours each way), but my sister flew in/out from Washington DC. We had a great time!

Our first trip was our shortest - 4 days. One day for each park. Since then all trips have been 7-10 days. We are so far away (17 hours if we drive) and have a large family so airfare is pricey so we want at least 2 days in all parks except AK. If we lived closer, I'd be okay with shorter trips though. Any time at Disney is worth it!

My husband and I own a medical practice and closing for more than a day or two is out of the question. So our trips the past few years have involved leaving VERY EARLY on a Saturday morning and returning home LATE Monday night!

All of my trips have been long, but I've been toying with the idea of a three or four day trip. It's easy for us because we're only 2 hours away on a direct flight from Richmond. And usually the flights are great in that they'll leave as early as 5:30 in the morning and the return flights will be 7 pm or later. Our last trip was great, we had a 7 AM flight down, made it in time for our lunch at Liberty Tree, and our last day we had a 7:30 pm flight home and ate lunch at BOG before we left :)

A few years ago, as DH and I were driving back from dropping the kids off with the ILs (who live 3 hours away) for their annual summer week with them, we were talking about going somewhere for a few days. I jokingly said, "well there is always Disney", and to my surprise DH was on board with the idea. So the whole trip home, I was on the phone booking a 3 night trip to WDW and pricing out airfare for the 2 of us that happened 5 days later. DH and I had so much fun during that trip, we can't wait to do another "Adult's Only" trip :goodvibes.

DH was teasing me yesterday morning when he realized it was mid-September already and I didn't have a trip planned to WDW that involved the MNSSHP since I "tricked" him into the party for the last three years. Then next thing I know, he's pricing up a flight for me and looking at what is available for DVC room...only one night at OKW is available at the 31 day mark.:love2: He isn't able to go....or he's just trying to get rid of me.

I called my cousin to see if she wanted to go with me and was surprised she said yes (after she said I was nuts). She hasn't been in 20 years and hasn't flown in 30 years.

So we are flying out of NY for one night, just to go to the Halloween Party. I've never booked a Disney trip for less than 7 nights so this is really crazy but we are excited. It's going to be an exhausting trip. I just wish we were there a little longer so I could show the newbie around. This may spur her on to book her own trip though...she loves Disney but her kids were never interested. Although the crowds at the party could scare her off.:rolleyes2

So what is your shortest trip which involved flying and where were you flying from?

Laura

We went this past weekend for the first weekend of Food and Wine. Flew in Friday night and flew back Sunday night, from Miami.

The shortest trip I have planned that included flights was a two night stay in the Denver area. The shortest Disney trip was three nights. We had $49 airfare and with our AP's it was a cheap weekend trip - and lots of fun. :)

MADD national conference. 7AM flight Friday, 1PM flight back on Sunday.

We're flying in from NY for 2 nights in December. DH wants to see the Osbourne lights one more time. I don't think we'd ever go for just one night unless it was something huge...like a family member getting married there and we didn't have any PTO left.

I have done several shorter trips for work, but 3 nights (a long weekend) is the shortest for a personal trip. We did a long weekend at Disney for DD's 10th birthday, and this weekend, we're doing a long weekend at Universal for her 13th birthday.

<<<Just came back from a wonderful 6 night trip, stayed at CSR. I have booked a quick getaway in the end of January: pre birthday trip. This time I am only staying 3 nights.

We have flown for a 3-night stay. It's a 10+ hour drive for comparison. The flight helped facilitate more hours in the park. Flew out on a Thursday morning, in the park by 1:00 PM. Flew out on the latest available Sunday flight at 5:30 PM and stayed in the parks until 3:00 PM. With the time change, we were home by 7:30PM.

That was our most memorable trip! It was a no stress, do-our-favorites, weekend in early December.

I also fly out of NY and my last few trips have either been 3 night/2 day or 4 night/3 day trips. I've never taken a longer trip as an adult, but they feel like a decent vacation. Better a short trip than no trip!

But I also have done a 3 night trip to CA to visit my sister and do the Disneyland Halloween party so maybe I'm biased :-)
