I have the money in hand for my holiday next year.

I am interested in how you all find discounted flights or miss-priced flights. Seen many of you manage it - the question is how?

We post our question, just like you did, and then hope to goodness that Wayne hops on the thread. ;)

Otherwise, next best thing is Martin Lewis' money saving tips. You really need to be looking in the right place at the right time, so the more places you check and the more often you check them, the better your odds are for finding a bargain. Flexibility in dates/times/direct or indirect and not being brand loyal to specific airlines also plays a major part as it gives more scope to work with.

Jump if you see a good price - don't dither!

Generally keep your eyes and ears open. One year we got flights to Washington DC for just over £200 each from Manchester as it was a new route. I think the days of those prices are long gone though!

Usually indirect, flying midweek and maybe considering other airports like Tampa help.

Remember things like quido or price matching.

DH had a haggle with jetsave this year and they knocked a few hundred off.

I've got the cash and will book now if you can do it for x is a very useful negotiating tool.

Good luck.

I check every website going on a daily basis, I also have a spreadsheet that details the changes in prices. My DH thinks I am mad!

I also have the money ready to go, but I just want to get a good deal!

have you tried all of the normal sites for prices
kayak
ebookers
netflights
skyscaner
opodo

etc

To be honest, last year booking for this year just kind of happened for us! We booked July 2009 for May 2010 when flights suddenly were cheaper one day. I'm looking for similar dates next year (hopefully!) and currently they're at a similar price to what they were this time last year so I'm just hoping they come down like they did.

I said before, we booked our Continental flights at a time when Virgin and someone else (can't remember who) were doing flight sales, I think Continental were kind of trying to compete with that but not in such an advertised way :confused3

It's alot harder being from Glasgow in the first place to find flights!
