What's the reason that Hollywood Studios is changing name for 2nd time?

well, i have 300 disney pins for the time period it was called MGM studios.
now i have 345 disney pins with the disney hollywood studios.

this is going to break me when the park gets renamed.
gonna have to buy all the pins of characters and everything they have, all over again.

You do realize an attitude like that encourages them to change the name. If everyone did this, they'd rename all the parks every 5 years. :rotfl:

I actually think this is a ridiculous name.
There is disneys California adventure in California, why would they put hollywood adventure in Florida?
DCA is so named because it's *about* California, not because it's *in* California. So in that respect Hollywood Adventure would make sense no matter where it's located.

The idea of the California themed park was discussed back in Walt's day and he shot the idea down for the same reason Reddog1134 mentioned, "why put a park about California, IN California?"

AKK

I think they'll take out "Hollywood". Though still tinseltown, it's not the main mecha for filming anymore. Heck, 60% of movies are being filmed in Louisiana now.

disneyshollywoodland.com is available to buy if anyone wants to take a flyer on that, while disneyshollywoodadventure.com is already bought.

Well, then it's clearly NOT going to be hollywoodland! Whatever it will be, Disney already owns it.

Walt Disney Studios Florida... I really think keeping "studios" in the name helps to keep it open to hosting TV/movie production in the future. You never know if it could come back. Especially with the mouse's work with ESPN and ABC. Seems like they need to push more to be done on-location in Florida instead of giving up on the dream. Down the road, Universal is still doing TV work with NBC programming. For example, the Tonight Show was filmed there last year. Also, this doesn't allinate Pixar or Star Wars fans.

Some other new naming ideas:

Disney's HollywoodLAND
Disney's CineMAGIC Theme Park
Disney's Hollywood Adventure
Disney's Movie Magic Theme Park

I don't see them ever bringing back anything with a studio/movie making. They tried it multiple times and it just never worked. With the new name DHA I think they will go in a new direction.

Pixar, Star Wars, Great Movie ride and Twilight Zone still have a Hollywood Vibe especially as the 2 formers franchises are BIG currently in Hollywood so i still think that Hollywood Adventure is a good shout.

Apart from Star Wars and Pixar lands, i hope theres room for another IP to come into the park

so, if i have 3 days' worth of park hopper tickets at disney world and will be with my husband (who is not american and will not care about 80% of anything there) and my 9 year old son (who i'm sure will be obsessed with mk and ak) is it safe to say we can take a miss on dhs, or do it in the evening, after one of the other parks? or is it a must-visit?

If you like thrill rides there is the Tower Of Terror, and The Rocking Roller Coaster, and the very cute 3d Toy Story Midway Mania. I would say it's worth a half day trip.
