Asking for help from the die-hard resort crowd:
After a handful of World visits over the past 15 years, with 3 recent visits staying at the Hilton, and most recently the Swan (all were good), we are almost ready to jump and splurge for the GF at the end of January. We regularly study all the forums, study the Unofficial Guide, and follow Touring Plans. The books tell us the GF can be noisy. While not begrudging happy mini-visitors, we would like to get a room away from heavy pool noise, marina jet skies, and lots of traffic. Can anyone help? Recommend locations? View doesn't matter, since most waking hours will be at the Parks!!!
Thanks to all.
Rogar

I also read that in the Unofficial Guide. When we stayed there, our room was in the Sugar Loaf building, which is concierge.

For quiet, I would go for any building away from the main building--the lobby was quite noisy and I remember being very glad our room wasn't in the building!

The outer buildings were very quiet though! Sago Key and Conch Key would be furthest from the pools.

Gee, how does the main building all of a sudden become noisy when elsewhere it's quiet and snooty? Hey OP, you've got to do it at least one time in order to form your own opionion. However, if you are going to go CL, then SL would probably be quieter than RPC if that is a concern. If I had the money though, I'd shoot for RPC for the convenience and ambiance. Shoot over to the GF FAQ link and read some of the expert's opinions.

I don't think I've ever seen the GF lobby quiet LOL. The grounds, yes, but thier lobby can rival the WL!

We've stayed in many different buildings at the GF and the only one I would avoid is a garden view overlooking the courtyard pool. The main lobby can definitely get noisy, but the concierge rooms are up on the 3rd, 4th and 5th floor. And most of those are located down the wings, not directly facing the lobby. Yes, some of the hustle and bustle from the lobby does drift up to the club lounge, but the only noise that filtered into our room in that area, was the GF Orchestra playing. Sounds like you might want to ask for Sago Cay or Conch Key. I always suggest those as quieter buildings.
