We have a flight booked out of orlando for 1145 am which we hope we make after getting off our disney cruise line ship. So what is the Policy if you miss your flight? Do they charge you? Also will you be allowed on the next flight out- for example for us it would be 130pm? any help is appreciated.
Also whats the latest we can arrive for our plane ride before we are considered too late?
THANKS

Most airlines will allow you to fly standby on a later flight on the same day, at no additional charge. That doesn't mean you're guaranteed a seat on the next flight. The next flight may be full. Or there may be a few empty seats, but those seats might go to other standby passengers with a higher standby priorty (such as passengers with elite frequent flyer status on that airline).

Even though 11:45 a.m. is earlier than what DCL recommends, you should have no problem getting from the ship to the airport (unless there's an unusal problem, such as delayed clearance from U.S. Customs and Immigration). If you arrange your own transportation with a reliable provider, you should get to the airport in plenty of time.

At most airports, airlines will only accept your luggage until 45 minutes before your departure. (At some airports, it's 60 minutes.) That means actually checking your luggage, not just getting into the check-in line. And if the line is long, that's the passenger's problem, not the airlines's problem.

Call your airline, because not all airlines have the same rules.

I agree with othe other poster to call your airline. They also have something called "the flat tire rule" in case you are running late. But it all depends if there is room on the next flight.

Who did you buy your tickets from? If direct from the airline you won't have any problems. If you bought them from Priceline you may have problems.

How are you getting to the airport? I would not recommend using the Disney bus with your schedule. It sounds like you need a rental car or towncar service.

The problem with standby is that your family will more then likely be split up on the plane.

My mother in law did a similar thing to us when on a Carnival Cruise 2 yrs ago. We had a 12:00/noon flight. She notified someone on board of the cruise and they made special arrangements for our luggage and when we left....in other words they made sure we were first off the ship. Usually the ship will dock very early in the morning. So you are usually at port...its the departing, customs etc that takes a while. Plus they picked up most of our luggage the night before... we just grabbed overnight bags for the things we needed that morning. We also had a limo service pick us up and take us straight to the airport...we didn't deal w/ the cruise ship transfers...which got us there much earlier...hope that helps!

we booked with delta song. I guess I will arrange my own transfers instead of using disneys transportation
