What's the oddest name you've encountered?

I knew a D'artangnen once.

And a former boss of mine, his parents were both named Shirley. Both the dad and mom!

I actually DID have to say it to get the funny part!!!

This thread reminds me of the old episodes of The Simpson's when Bart would call Mo's Bar and ask for Amanda....Amanda Hugandsqueeze or Phil....Phil McCracken.

Anyhow...here's mine and I am TOTALLY not making this up. I used to be a claims rep for an insurance company. I would have to call clients up and ask them about their stolen cars, etc. This one call I had to make was to an Oriental gentleman whose name was (I am NOT making this up)...*** Yu.

Although it is probably pronounced Fook...I still called and asked if I could please speak to Mr. Yu. Obviously his parents didn't know that his name was close to a naughty word in the U.S. Poor guy:(

Sandra Foreskin. She is now happily Marred!
LOL! And your typo made this statement even funnier!:teeth: :jester:

I went to college with a guy named Gate Dong, and his brother was named Hapi. He legally changed it after college.

There was a guy where I used to work named Charles Manson. The first time I heard it over the loudspeaker, I was sure someone was playing a practical joke. I actually looked it up in the directory before I believed he was real.

At work we always got a laugh out of one of the clients names. It was a man called Primrose Perkins.

Another funny one while going to school was Richard Cox.

Hey, my uncle's name is Richard Cox. He goes by Dick, but his wife insists on calling him Richard.

We got a Christmas card once from a Richard Hair. His address lable said Richard, but he goes by Dick. How crazy is he??? And, to make matters worse he's a teacher.

The weirdest, not funniest name I've ever heard is my step-sister's. Her name is Deisha. When our parents started dating I could never remember her name. NEVER. And, to make matters worse her last name is Goshon. I don't believe she's ever had her name pronounced correctly.

I went to school with a girl named Terry with no middle name and she married a guy with the last name of Terry.

I know a little girl named Mecca Luv.

This link is SO funny! Here is my contribution...

Our new neighbor is named "Wingman." The very ironic part is that my husband is a pilot!

My girlfriend's cousin also just had a baby girl and loved the named that John Travolta and his wife gave their daughter, Ella Bleu. Very pretty name, but it doesn't work when your last name is DEXTER!!!

My daughter has identical twin boys in her preschool calss. They are named Shine and Showne(pronounce shone).

Granted, they are from another country( Pakistan/India-that area) so for all I know that could be like Joe and Bill there.

Jeronica's other 3 sisters: Jerhonica, Jerlonica and Jermonica. Always wondered if, for the sake of brevity, their mother just called 'em "H," "L," "M," and "R." :p

Runner up would be a Mabel who married a fellow with the last name Gable. Mabel Gable. I've been told they got kinda nasty with her when she went to change the name on her driver's license. They didn't believe she was serious.

I thought of a couple more

My girlfriend is a nurse and one of the doctors she worked for was Harry Beaver..and yes he was an OB/GYN.

My grandma's name is Ismene-she was from Italy, and her parents pronounced it Is-man-ay with their Italian accents, but the rest of the world called her Is-mean(and no she wasn't! LOL)

I have heard that Ima Hogg has a sister named Ura Hogg.

Also the names Tasty DeLight and Rusty Nail.:Pinkbounc

I also went to school with a Richard Cox.

Theone that sticks out the most in my mind is a girl that was in 5th grade with us, her name was Prudence Pruden.

I remember another one - the man's last name was:

***UDOME

It was pronounced Fook-o-do-may

My DH also went to scholl with a guy named Harry Johnson.

I thought my kids were going to die laughing when he called to talk to my hubby. They go around asking him now "How's your Harry Johnson?"

:thewave:

One of my students names was Lando Calrissian Jones. (mom was a huge star wars fan).

Also, my name is Tifany Lenore (Archer) Lenoir. Alot of people pronounce my middle and last name the same "La Nor" but the last name is french and should be "Lyn Wa".

Talk about funny looks at the grocery store when I have to show my driver's license. I have found out that it helps me stand out on my resume when I put my first, middle, and married last name on my resume! Gets alot of double takes!

There is actually an organization of people whose last names are the same as their first. (I read about it in Newsweek because the writer's wife, upon marriage to him, had become Leslie Leslie.)

The Mom went to school with Olive Pitts and I met someone today who just had a baby and named her Ocean.

The last time I was at the pediatrician's office there was the cutest set of curly-haired twins there. The nurse went to call them into the office and it turns out their names were Starlight and Starbright Steinberg. Of course as soon as they were out of earshot my smart aleck son had to say "First star I see tonight". For some reason those names just cracked me up.

My sister works for Dept. of Children and Family Services here in Chicago and she has some bizarre names for clients. One family named their kids Mercedes (so far so good), Porsche, and the twins Chevette and Corvette. I'd be a little ticked to be the Chevette of the bunch!

We used to get calls at work all the time from a young lady named Lasanga.

(as in the food)

I work with a girl named Lunie Jules. She goes by Jules. I went to high school with a girl named Myunghee Nicholson.

When I worked in a pharmacy in Tulsa, we used to get prescriptions from Dr. Safety First.

One of our patients was a young girl name Secret Reason.

There's a little boy in kindergarten at my children's school named "Chaos". Talk about blaming everything that goes wrong in his life on his parents! They set their own selves up.
