7 nights at the Sheraton Vistana Resort? Friends of ours who own a 2 bedroom villa timeshare offered us a week for about $600.00. Is that a good deal or can I get a better rate at a better location online? We usually stay onsite and I am a little leary about some offsite locations.

We plan on going sometime after Thanksgiving. Any comments would be helpful.

600.00 for a week at the Vistana is a good price. Usually they go for 650 to 1000 depending upon who's renting it. Thank your friends and have a great time.

Basically your friends are only charging you their maintenance fee. Find out what area they "own" in because if that is for Lakes/Cascades or Fountains I/II you are getting great deal. You cannot stay offsite and be much closer to Disney than at Vistana. The resort is beautiful and literally 4 minutes to DTD and about 10 to EPCOT. You will be very very happy with this resort.
Enjoy!!!

We exchanged our timeshare last summer into Vistana and were extremely pleased. You are so close to Disney and it's an easy trip.........you are practically onsite.

A previous poster was correct.....your friends are probably just having you pay the maintence fees....they aren't trying to make a profit.

Enjoy tourself.

Vistana is a nice resort. I stayed in the Fountains II area a couple years ago. I own at Orange Lake and really enjoy it but Vistana is also on my recommend list. Fairfields at Bonnet Creek is actually the closest that you can get to Disney without being on Disney (surrounded by Disney on three sides and I-4 on the other). Enjoy your vacation.

I think this is good as well, especially for one of the newer sections. The resort itself or a travel agent would probably charge you at least $150/night or more depending on the time of the year. Check and see what section your friends own in because some of the sections are a little older and in need of some updating. But even still, I think $600 is good for them.
The only place I can think of where you might get them cheaper are the internet auction sites. I haven't personally used any of them but I've read where some people have gotten a full week at Vistana for around $300+ ! But I'm just not sure how these auctions work or what their policies are.
Here are a couple of them :

I'm sure if you posted a question about these sites on this board you'd get several responses.
Good luck with your decision.

Thanks for the info. I always knew that my friends weren't making money on the deal (they're great people). I just didn't wan't to have to ask them a million questions so it seemed like I was looking "the gift horse in the mouth".

The other thing is the fact that we have almost always stayed onsite. I hear so much about the offsite accomodations that they are practically giving away to compete with Disney's resorts. I wasn't sure how that price compared to an internet special or something like that (3rd trip in a year - I have to start bargain shopping!).

Thanks again.

this is a good price. I think when Mousesavers offered a discount on this Sheraton it was $125 for a 1-bedroom.

don't pass it by even if it is an older section.

I got one of the older sections and it was great. Yes the room needed work. but being able to park the car and also walk straight in the room was nice. the new sections are further away from your car.

this is a nice resort will be going back in 4 years!!!
