What's the most unusual thing you've requested of IPO?

Curious to know just how far they will go. I'll be there on my birthday this fall and I always get Krispy Kreme donuts when I'm at home instead of a cake. Would they do this? I don't expect them to be HOT. Fresh would be great though! If not, we'll have our car and we know about where it's located (we saw it the last time we were there).

Every time we request a half a grapefruit for my Mom when she has breakfast. I would not call it unusual although maybe it is because they don't offer it for breakfast with the other items they serve.

what is IPO?

When you make a special request like that do you tip the CM? I read somewhere that you're not suppose to tip the concierge CM's.

Tecnically your not suppost to tip the Cast Members who work on the Club Level floors, because they could be fired for accepting money. I think you can get them gifts up tp a certin amount of $ which they can accept.

We also wanted robes for the kids, but they said they only had adult sizes. I was hoping they could be purchased and charged to my card, they said no can do!

We asked if they would be able to return our rental car upon arrival, they said no.

I can understand them not doing this.

This seems like something they could pull off though....unless none of the gift stores sell them.:confused3

Anybody else have any IPO experiences to share?

For most Deluxe or luxury hotels, most things are not out of the question, you just may have to pay for it if its a little too out there. Granted Disney is a little more institutionalized in their service, so they may not go to the lengths of say a Ritz or Four Seasons. I worked for a luxury hotel in Orlando (non Disney) for several years and I can tell you nothing was off limits. I made many a trip to Popeyes because a certain NBA player wanted it fresh each day! So to me, Krispey Kremes are not a big deal, but again Disney is a little different....

One of the Cast Members who use to work on the Atrium Club said Walt Disney World has a warehouse, that holds all food items and etc that is delivered to the parks and resorts. So if guests on the Club Level floors were to request something that they don't offer, they get it from the warehouse.

1) Normally, things available on-site can be gotten or accomplished.
2) But, not always, so don't be disappointed.
3) However, they do try their best.
4) It never hurts to ask.
5) If accomplished, in lieu of a cash tip, give a gift under $75.

NOTE: I stay concierge when on business because of the nature of business, and have made several requests which were out of the ordinary. Thus far, in the USA or other countries, only once can I think of ever being denied a request (during a long travel trip and after a tough travel day, I really felt like a Big Mac for dinner in Pontarlier, France). But, as mentioned, WDW resorts are a little more restrictive.

My sister will only drink caffiene free diet Pepsi and no other soft drink, so I requested a 12 pack be put in our frig in the room and it was there when we checked in. I know they had to go off property to do this since Disney is a Coke product only resort.

When we were at WDW back in Nov/Dec, Chef Mickey's had Krispy Kreme donuts on the breakfast buffet. I was shocked....and :yay: . So, with this in mind, I wouldn't think it would be that difficult to deliver a dozen (or more :woohoo: )of these sweet little gems to the WL. I'm going to ask them when it's a bit closer to my trip dates (Oct.20-27th)!

We have stayed concierge at the BC and the Poly, but have never requested anything special. However, our DD is now using Lactaid instead of milk in her cereal ( no more tummy aches in the am ) and now I am thinking about asking for that after reading this thread!:thumbsup2 I was also thinking of trying to go to a store to get the Activia yogurts that I use. I was hoping Hess ( by the BWI )would have them and the Lactaid if needed. Maybe I will just ask for both.

Now I will just have to get up the courage to ask the IPO!:rolleyes1

I would think the Lactaid milk should be no problem at all since many people deal with that issue. I also take Activia every day, (LOVE IT) and they do not carry it at the Hess last time I checked ( father's day weekend). We forgot to take ours out of the car. We ran to publix to get some, not far from WDW. They should be able to get it, I would think. Everyone I know has taken the Activia challenge ;)
