at WDW. Of course I'm talking about NOT in the AK or any Disney sponsored display area.

I saw 4 river otters crossing the road at Fort Wilderness once. There are huge snapping turtles in the lake on the street where the Courtyard by Marriott is near DTD. I've seen two snakes at TL. Also saw a rat in one of the displays at the AK. Eww!

Still haven't seen an alligator though. :(

Not really strange (especially for Florida) but we have seen an alligator at the Osprey Ridge golf course. Nothing else too unusual though.

We saw a couple of armadillos (sp?) near Blizzard Beach bus stop. They are cute.

We also saw an armadillo at the FW campground. Also saw a deer looking down from the monorail going from TTC to Epcot. We never expected to see it then!

Hmmmm... we saw grass snakes at FW and a really big, creepy, scary looking spider in our room at AKL ~ this thing was so big it cast a shadow

>>^..^<<

We saw alligators in the pond while walking from SOG to the monorail at the Poly. The pond was right there next to the sidewalk. I was very shocked at first - I had never seen alligators "in the wild" before with no fence or barrier between me and them!! We got used to them though and saw them pretty much every day that we walked over there. Of course they weren't really huge ones (they were maybe 3 feet long at the most) - otherwise I would have been a little more nervous about it.

Someone sent me a picture of a Giraffe in Zebra skin. Scientist kill me and their cloning.

Ya'll have got to be pulling our legs......You actually seen an armadillo on the hoof;)

We see a lot of armadillos here in northwest florida, but they're usually imitating a pancake in the middle of the road.

You know why the chicken crossed the road?

To prove to the possum/armadillo that it CAN be done.:)

We were at the Wilderness Lodge last month, and we saw an armadillo run in to some bushes not too far from the swimming pool. Then, the next day we saw a rabbit just hopping along right around the falls.

armadillos and turtles with pointy noses :)
both at CBR

We saw a green heron fishing the "stream/creek" at Downtown Disney. Watched him fish for nearly 1/2 hour - he was very beautiful.

At Epcot a couple of weeks ago I saw a bird, not a small bird but a bird a little smaller than a duck, but his legs were green and scaley like a lizards. Has anyone seen this brid before? There was a group of us watching it and trying to figure out what is was.

At CSR we saw the alligator in the lake and a huge armadillo that walked right by us while we were in the hot tub. On a previous trip, our disney bus actually ran over an armadillo with a loud crack and a thump. The driver came onto to the PA and said "well folks, that there WAS an armadillo!" :)

We saw a few things ............

We saw an armadillo which I don't think is to unusual in Florida though.

We also saw a couple of alligators one actually in the MK! Also one we saw when we were in the bus.

We saw two snakes when in the line of the HM. And a pretty big one in TL or BB can't remember.

And we saw this snail with a tiny tiny shell it was the first time I actually saw a snail! It was as big as your pinky nail!

here's a note for ya in the stange animal sighting dept......
next time you are on the safari, take note of all the vultures/buzzards. I have never heard a tourguide mention them and asked a friend (a CM who helped build AK) about them. They are "locals" who migrated in. Disney didn't put them there.

I forgot about those weird looking bugs. There are actually two stuck together??? Very strange!!!

While having lunch on Discovery Island on day we saw the strangest creature. Not really sure what it was, but it was the size of a small dog and looked like some sort of rodent. It never came near us, just hung out and watched us eat our lunch. Needless to say we ate very fast that day. :)

!My Dad actually at WDW - hasn't been seen since 1993! Rare animal indeed HAHAHA :jester:

Seriously - I come from an island where there is limited wildlife - so I love seeing the deer and I saw an eagle once near CBR. Tres Cool....
:p

I've seen deer in the Magic Kingdom area between the TTC and the Contemporary and Osperey in Frontierland. I've also seen rabbits and ducks in all of the resorts. Those last two aren't that unusual, but it's always nice to see them.
