What's the longest you've lived in one spot?

I have lived the longest in the house we're in right now......19 years and counting!!!!

I've lived in the same city since I was 5. Moved out of my mom's house when I was 22 and moved to another here in the same city and I've been in this house for 16 years now.

From age 0-18 I lived in this house (the one in the middle) with my 7 brothers, 1 sister, Mom & Dad, and various pets:

To say it was crowded would be to be putting it mildly. Loved that house though, I tried to buy it when I saw the For Sale sign on it, but it was already under contract by the time I got through to a real estate agent.

The longest would have to be the house a grew up in. I lived there from birth until going off to college at the wise old age of 18. Second to that would be the house DH, DD and I are in now. It'll be 9 years (for me at least) on Labor Day.

I lived in the same town from 0-18, two different house, from 0-9 and 9-18. (So half and half.) Shortest so far is 5.5 months.

9yrs where in my current house - no Im not planning on moving again in 2yrs

15 1/2 years in my first house as a child.
Since then Ive lived in other houses for 8 yrs, 4 yrs, and this one just over 4...but looking at many many more years here.

I lived in my parents house from birth to age 38. They hit the road when I was 18, and I had room mates there and paid my parents rent. DH and I bought it when we got married and started OUR family there. We moved to the burbs 8 years ago.

I think that makes me the winner so far!!!

4-5 years, which is about 2 yrs too long in one spot. I was just thinking about an hour ago about how much I love to move and how it's almost too bad that I have a good job now cuz I would really like to live in some more cities while I'm, ahem, "young."

After we got married 16 years in one place. Then 5 years in another house and now 5 years in this house.

Now I'm hoping to go to Avalon Park in Orlando Florida. One day I'll get there.

I've lived in the same city for all of my 25 years.

The current house would be the longest I've lived in one home, we're going on 15 years here.

Prior to that, I had lived in 14 or 15 different houses in 28 years (Dad was in road construction, and we traveled around to road jobs). Married to a man that couldn't keep a job, so he joined the milirary! That kept us on the go pretty much until l971. When he left, I kept the house. I got the better deal!
