What's the least amount you've purchased

 I have actually bought less than a dollar before because I knew my clunker was gonna die. I was digging change from beneath the seats to come up with money. I don't even think you are allowed to remove the nozzle for a dollar these days.

I remember in high school (mid '80s) I'd put in $1.50 or $2.00 worth all the time. But that was when gas was .97/gallon.

I think the least is $5. But I remember back when I was in high school (which sadly is almost 20 years ago), I was with a friend when she stopped to get gas and she put in $2. These days you'd use that up just driving from the pump back to the road.

When my best friend and I were in HS, we realized we needed to put gas in the car and we had to scrounge up the only change we could find on us...about $1.75. Just enough for her to get the car back home!

I go through about $20 a day personally, but the other day a guy at UDF paid for $1 in gas and the lady asked him where he was going...to the curb?? :lmao: That was so funny since gas here is $2.95 a gallon!

In high school, I had a car but very little money to keep it going.

One time, I put in $1.10. Believe it or not, that was 2 gallons of gas! :cool1:

I never had over half a tank of gas the entire time I owned that car. I used to know exactly how far I could go before it ran out of gas. A few times, it stalled and I had to roll in to the station! Ah, those were the days.

BTW, it was a 1972 Dodge Charger - not exactly fuel efficient.

I was on my way home from Boston one night when I was in high school- $1.25 was all the money the 3 of us had left

BTW- this was 1995

The least was $10.00 only because i didn't look and see the charge price was 15 cents higher than the cash amount.
being that I was on empty it gave me gallons.

I once put in $1USD, which got me almost 3L and enough to get home and ask my parents for money so I could get back to uni after visiting them at Christmas.

I almost always fill the tank. Back in the mid-60's, though, is was commonplace to pull in for $2 worth, which was usually enough to get around town for most of the week with gas being somewhere between 20 and 30 cents a gallon. My first new car was a 1965 Chevelle SS and I put "Hi-Test" in it and that, as I recall, was a whopping 32 cents a gallon. Oh, for the good old days..., wait a minute... I was only making $1.10 an hour... forget it!

My borther "borrowed" my car when he was 16 to go out for a quick joyride- he ended up putting $2 worth of gas in it so I couldn't tell. Too bad he left the windows open and the reciept in there......

I know in high school and college I did the $1 thing a lot! But the cheapest was probably 65 cents scrounging around for change in the car and in my purse just to get home...

well, back in 93 at UF....gas was 0.99 a gallon - and there were plenty of times I would put in 0.80 or so to get me to where I was going!

I have put in about $1.00 back in the day. I purchase a gallon just to make it home :drive:
