what's the "it" toy this year?

Pillow Pets are huge here now. They're everywhere. I picked some up for my niece and one nephew. We got our son the pillow pet Panda for his last birthday back when they had to be ordered. And he actually LOVES it. He's slept with it almost every single night since then. And the two nights without it were when we forgot it on an overnight trip once and once when I didn't get it into the dryer in time. For us, it was a great investment.

The thing Ds really wants and has been begging for for some time (besides any electronic, ds game stuff) is Paper Jamz. I've been stalking them for a couple months now and it looks like the guitars and drums will be on sale at Walgreen's on Thanksgiving and Black friday for $14.99 (great price!) so I'm going to grab him one of each, if I can. If I can't get them there on sale, I'll pay full price elsewhere. He REALLY wants them.

Shut up, really? I had 2 people, 2 states. :lmao:

We eventually DID get 2 - from Montana. White & Green. And then a couple months later, scored the MegaZord, again from Montana.

And why do I remember the name "MegaZord"? :rotfl:

Or Lord Zedd? My DD eventually had all the rangers with the heads that turned so one way was the ranger and the other way was the person. She loved her Power Rangers. She had the command center which was set up next to her Fisher Price dollhouse and in which the 6 power rangers lived together! My DD is so funny, years later she said You know Mom in the show they were all teenagers and I had them living together alone in a house, well at least I had the girls in one bedroom and the boys in another! She also had the stuffed about 18 inch ones and she still has those in her bedroom.

The states I had covered where Wisconsin, New Jersey and both sides of Pennsylvania (Philly and Pittsburgh)

And those were the days before internet shopping so you had to physically make the rounds to the stores and stand in line.

I can't believe kids want those Pilloe Pets! When I saw the infomercial, I thought, "What kid..."

Wow.

They seem like boring junk to be played with for 15 minutes... But then, most of the popular toys are!

I've said it before on a different thread, but I really think the only reason all the kids want one of these pillow pets is because of the commercial. They love that song!

Yes, the song does get sung over and over and over.... :rotfl:

But the Pillow Pets themselves also get used over and over and over. The kids replaced their regular pillows with them, and even took them on vacation. :lovestruc

Well, it's a pillow, it's a pet, it's a pillow pet! (the tune is catchy)

Both of my children have them. They LOVE them. Sleep with them every night. They are also going to WDW with us in 11 days!

My 9 year old wants a Kindle. I have already have it and the red case for her. My son wants whatever is on the commercial he is watching.

So weird my grandmother bought the kids these cool pillows that were animals that velcroed shut about 3 yrs ago they were almost a full size pillow. The kids loved them.

Then my sisin law last Christmas said she orderd the girls pillow pets - I'd never heard of them since we don't watch the channel that had the commercial - I looked them up - thought they were fine - she evidently changed her mind 'cause my kids didn't get them:confused3

SOO I was surprised to see them in stores all the sudden & then y'all say they are the "it" gift....

WEIRD...LOL

I think squinkies, my target NEVER HAS them and neither does TRU.
But IDK if I got lucky or what, but they had loads of them, playsets, bracelets, rings, etc @ my Wal mart yesterday :cool1:
Other than that, I really don't know, maybe I am old but I just don't think toys of today are as appealing as the toys I had when I was little? :confused3
I know my Bed Bath and Beyond always has the Pillow Pets.

I base the IT toy of the year as the one thatg is hard to find and going for 3 times the price on eBay! :lmao: So far I don't see anything that fits that bill. :confused3

Squinkies
zoobles
Monster High dolls

:lmao: DH and I were living in Los Angeles and we hunted and searched every toy store for about a 75 mile radius, we were on a mission. Meanwhile the in-laws in New Hampshire were also on the hunt as well as an Uncle in N. Calif, Great Grandma in Nevada and another uncle in New York. It was crazy and funny but I don't remember the result. I know eventually DS had all the action figures and one big tall noisy thing.

This year I need to order Call of Duty-Black Ops, that is on DS's list along with a Droid and a netbook, DD just wants a Wii. She does not want the Kinect she wants a Wii, she is quite adament about wanting that Wii.
None of these are "hot items" the local Gamestop is preordering COD. Thankfully we are over toys. Couple of years ago I scoured all of N. NV for Guitar Hero, that was the last big toy hunt in our house

You can get them now for that price. Take the Kmart toy book to Target and PM their $19.99 price and then use the $5 off coupon out of Target toy book which makes it $14.99.
