I thought it'd be fun to see what our first traditions are at Disney :goodvibes

We usually spend our first evening (because we get there at around 6pm) exploring the hotel. We then get a bus to DTD and buy our first souvenir for the trip

The first attraction is Test Track. We always go to Epcot first and the last 2 trips Test Track was the busiest so that's where we went! Something tells me though that Soarin' may be the new first ride! :teeth:

Besides checking into the resort ;) , we usually go to DTD the first night and look around to get into the Disney spirit.

The first thing I have to do is get on Main Street.
That's when I know I'm at Disney.
And if I used the Monorail to get there, that's even better.

Because of our arrival time and setting up the campsite we will be going over to DTD and doing some shopping and walking around. Maybe find a good place to eat.

Jim ;)

our first day is always a shortened day because of the flight in so it's a day that we go to animal kingdom. we have to start our trip off with a ride on primevel whirl!! we go back to the resort to go to bed early because the next full day is Magic Kingdom!!!!!!! :wizard:

On our last two trips the first thing I did at the resort was race to the balcony to see what kind of a view we got. :rotfl:

Like Hincher, the first thing we like to do is get to Main Street. Once I round the corner and see the Castle, I get teary eyed and so happy to be there!

This, of course, is after a 2 hour flight and check in at ASMo!

For us, it depends on what day we arrive. We usually get in around early afternoon, get checked into the hotel and usually go to MGM Studios the first day. We love RnR and ToT, so we can't wait to ride those.

92 days and counting... :yay:

We're AP holders so we're not concerned about burning days on a hopper pass, but we like to get the earliest flight in, check in and tool around the resort. Have lunch, maybe swim and then maybe head to the park closest to our resort. We always get a rental so we might stray down to DTD for some shopping. We typically plan for a nice dinner our first evening. We try to make it a relaxing day.

We usually arrive somewhere around 1:00pm. So, after checking in to our room, we like to play a round of Putt Putt Golf at Winter/Summerland. It just doesn't seem quite right without it! Then we head over to DTD and do some major shopping!

As for a park - I always have to start out my trip at Magic Kingdom. Just the feeling that comes over me seeing Cinderella Castle bring tears to my eyes! Laugh all you want - my family does, so it's nothing new! I also have to end every trip at Magic Kingdom!

Usually depends on what time we arrive. Last May we arrived at around 8:00pm, so we checked in and went to DTD to eat and get in the Disney spirit (not that I need any help with that!)

The trip before that we arrived about noonish, so we checked in and went to MK for the rest of the day.

This trip (Sept 16-23) we are going to spend the rest of the day that we arrive in the pool or we may end up at ESPN Zone to watch the Miami 'Canes game with the in-laws, then we are scheduled for Hoop de Doo that evening, but we may end up cancelling if the game runs too long. Which will be fine, we can eat at the Boardwalk or DTD or something, no worries!!

The first full day is usually reserved for MK!!! I don't feel officially there until I walk down Main Street and see the castle!!! :earsgirl:

We check in and go straight to MK. Like some of the other posts, I can't wait to get on Main Street. To me there's nothing like the feeling you get when you look up Main Street and see the castle.

Another AP holder so it depends on arival time.
Early morning until noon POC in MK
After noon but before 3 pm you find me at DAWA in AK
Between 3 and 7pm its Tune-In at MGM
After 7 pm it POC in MK
After MK closes its Petals at POP

We usually get a flight that arrives around 9-10 so we check our luggage and go to DTD, get some lunch, usually at DQ, unpack when our room is ready and head to a park.

We always do the same things the first two days of our trip. We go to Sea World on our first full day there (we have free passes), check into our resort, go to dinner, and then to DTD. The second full day we always go to MK and head to Tomorrowland first and ride Buzz Lightyear and then the TTA (my favorite ride). I can't wait!!

After getting checked into our room we go to our resort cafeteria, get something to drink, walk around the resort, and then we head to DTD. I like to shop first so I can have the goodies sent back to our room and if I want to have something personalized we have time to do that.

WE have started a new tradition and this Oct trip will be out 3rd time to do this but we head straight toward the MK. I get so excited when I see the monorails and the train station with the flowers in front shaped like Mickey. Walking down main street I just want to zip be de do da but I know people will think I'm crazy.

This year we are arriving late- will be at the resort around 6pm. We will probably just hang out there, get something to eat at the food court, relax by the pool, while my boys swim. I love to people watch- especially to see everyone having such a great time at disney. Watch out though, the next day we will be hitting AK to ride Expedition Everest- a first for us!!!!!!
