With the new(ish) 90 day regulation, what's the earliest you've been able to book seats? Exactly at the 90 day mark (i.e. 11am flght = 11am - 90 days) or at midnight (or any other hour) the day before?

I did this last week and it is bang on 90 days. Even went on live chat with Virgin and were told 90 and zero minutes! It shows the plane seats and allows you pick in preparation but if you try to submit it tells you that you can't have them. Ounces it's bang on 90 days, so 89 days, 23 hours, 59 minutes and 59 seconds..... it will allow you.

Also, according to Virgin's website, you have to check in online in order for your chosen seats to be confirmed. Or else the seats are released again. Does it tell you or warn you of this when you have pre-requested your seats?

"Please note: To retain your pre-requested seats, you must ensure that you check in online 24 hours prior to departure to secure your seat number."

Interesting. It's my 90 days on Sunday. We fly at 1pm so I guess 1pm on Sunday we can book. I'm working Sunday so leaving it all to the wife!!!! Scary! Was hoping I could do it before I go to work but I guess not as I start at 7am....

Try about 8am on your 90 day mark - I know I got ours at about 90days and 1 hour but I have seen several reports of 8am being the magic time :thumbsup2

Our flight isn't till the afternoon but on the 90 day mark I went on in the morning and I was able to select our seats. (Now at 55 days, woohoo!)

I was told on the hour exactly so we fly at 11:15am so we could book the seats at 11:15am on our 90 day mark! The guy told me wrong basically so I didn't get the seats I wanted! When I called them to ask why he clearly didn't know what he was talking about she said I could have gone online and booked from around 8am onwards! Was not a very happy bunny! Lol

Deb, from what I've read on the subject, you should be able to book at 8am on the 90 day mark.

However, I have also seen that the seat charts usually appear to be viewed from the night before.

You can book at 90 days at 8am for all VA flights, seat map may show before that but at 8am you can book. I have done it a few times recently.

Hi, my TA has offered to do this for me but in your experience should I do it myself or do TA's have early access?

Thanks

Thanks, all. We were able to view the charts last night (but not able to book) and I suspected it might open up at 8am (I seem to remember reading something along those lines in the past) which is why I asked the question. I had to leave the house at 7:45am this morning to take Matt to Bristol Airport and didn't get home until 11am (exactly at our 90 day minus zero hours). I was able to get seats in the bubble, although I'd been hoping we'd be on an Airbus (for the 2-4-2 configuration) as that's what traditionally runs on the VS75 from what I can gather. Ah, well.

I would like to know this too! we have booked with dial a flight and the TA said he would phone me nearer the time and would get the seats booked for me.

Mind you, if I'd remembered to look at the responses to my question this morning, I could have done it from my phone! :rolleyes1
