Having failed to get the Wanna Get Away rate for our return flight last Oct I'm a little paranoid about tomorrow's opening. How early, Eastern time, do I need to be online to have the best chance to get what we want? I'm planning on not booking the Early Bird thing right off the bat to save clicks and strokes, I'll go back in after the deal is done and add it. Any reason I shouldn't do this?
One more thing, I can get on the site early and repeatedly refresh until they open, right?
Thanks,

Wondering the same thing! I have flights to buy for both August and Oct! But I think Chicago doesn't get quite as locked out.

I think it can be as early as 6am EST. Someone correct me if I am remembering wrong.

The only disadvantage to not booking EB right away is that the boarding pass number you get is somewhat dependent on how early you book plus the price of your ticket. I doubt it would make a big enough impact to matter though if you went in an added it later.

I have never seen before 6am. Last couple of times it was 6:30. I have noticed that the travel tools page updates exactly at 6am EST to show the new valid booking dates, but the actual booking calendar doesn't update for a while. FYI, I have tried different browsers, different computers, and even remote computers in other time zones. None of them ever had any advantage over the other.

I just took a look at a thread discussing the schedule release on Oct 27, 2015 and someone reported booking their flight at 6:15am (eastern) that day. I plan to be online, logged in to southwest's website and ready to go at 6:00am and will keep refreshing every minute or so until the schedule comes up.

How far out will they open their dates? Looking for November...

Found out - only through November 4th. We're going later in the month.

Let's hope they don't keep us waiting too long! Good luck everyone!

Still waiting....
Last Feb. when we booked for August I think I waited until almost 6:30am. before they opened.
