I'm debating saving up mypoints for a big reward & came across vacation miles awards.

They have Hotel rewards (Marriot, Wyndam & Hilton)

Marriott: $25.00 = 1,750 points
$50.00 = 4,375 points

I know some of you cash out for Marriott dollar cheques

$25.00 = 3,000 points
$50.00 = 5,750 points.

Anyone know if there is a catch to the vacation miles. It's a whole lot less points.

Also anyone every saved up for a big cashout ie. cruises?

Thanks.::teeth:

I wish I could help you out, but I have never used My Points for anything other than Target or Rainforest Cafe GC's....

Can anyone else answer this question?

From what I can tell, the $25-$50 Award for the Marriott is $25 - $50 which is credited toward booking a stay at a Marriott thru Award Headquarters (whoever they are). You have no idea whether they will book you at a reduced rate or the rack rate.

The Marriott Gift Cheques are yours to spend however you please at any participating Marriott. That means that you can book your own room at the best rate you can find and use the Gift Cheque to pay for it. You can also use the Gift Cheque to pay for meals and other ammenities if you desire.

For my money, the $25 Award for 1,750 points is not worth it. Go for the Gift Cheque instead.

Thank you. That's what I get for not reading the "Terms and Conditions". You do have to book thru them.

It's very tempting to hold out for the United coach ticket for 40,000 points.

Sorry...forget that I could get about 11 "webbies" for that many points.
