Cantina at San Angel and San Angel Inn?? Are they connected with one a more casual version of the other?

Thanks,
Joanne

The Cantina is an outdoor, counter service restaurant. They serve basic Mexican foods and drinks.

The San Angel Inn is indoor, sit down, full service restaurant. They offer basic as well as fancier Mexican fare.

Margarita's on a hot summer's day outside or Magarita's under the faux nightime sky! Sigh.:scratchin That's a tough one.

Does the food come from the same kitchen? Where would you go if you had the choice? I have never been to either place.

Thanks,

Joanne

JM........Hope this helps.......

Both are great, but here's how I would look at it.......

If you just want to stop for a quick bite to eat, while touring the Showcase of Nations, then the Cantina is your place...........

If you are planning on having a relaxing, 'sit down' lunch or dinner and drinks, then you will want to go to the Inn.....

Keep in mind, you may have to make a PS if you are going to the San Angel Inn, depending on what time of year and what time of day you plan on going........Whereas, the Cantina is "walk up" counter service, so no PS's necessary or available, for that matter.......

I could not tell you if the food comes from the same kitchen, but considering they are on two different sides of the walkway (street), I'm going to guess that they have separate kitchens....

Thanks, we're going to try the Inn for a more relaxing restaurant experience!

Can't wait!

There is also the nice marketplace outside the Inn, and the boat ride. Both will keep kids occupied!

The food does not come out of the same kitchen. Cantina de San Angel is across the walkway from the Mexican Pavillion and at the edge of the lagoon. The San Angel in is way inside of the pavilion toward the middle. Some of the the food for the Cantina may be prepped in the kitchin in the pavilion but it looks like it is cooked and assembled in the kitchen of the Cantina. Mmmm the wet burrito is really good.
