What's the deal with the diver at Coral Reef?

I just read a post about someone reserving a diver. Can anyone tell me about that? What does the diver do and how much is it?

The diver is free. You have to contact someone from the restaurant weeks in advance. I can't remember her name...sorry. I am sure someone here can tell you. We called and talked to her 8 weeks before our trip. We have diver witha sign for my SIL who had jsut graduated. We also were able to email some photos which they used to make SIL a special menu. It was beautiful. I can't seem to find the info...anyone??

If you have an ADR at the Coral Reef. You can call the rest. and ask if they have any time slots open for the diver. I believe they do 4 or so a day.
A diver will swim in the tank and hold up a sign saying whatever you ask for... Happy Birthday, Anniversary, Will you Marry Me? And then they will give you the sign afterwords. They don't charge for it. But snagging one well good luck w/ that!

Call ahead. I think it's a case of 'if it's possible we'll do it.'
At least it was when I arranged it for my wife's birthday last October. It may have changed since then.

It was really fun though. The diver had her approach the tank, sit on the ledge and then he held up the sign and tossed some gravel like it was confetti.

Luckily we had friends there who took great pics. I just don't have access to them right now.

We also arranged to have a personal menu created. They personalized one, but didn't end up using the photos we sent. That's fine though. It's probably a lot of work and I would imagine a lot of people request it. The CMs went way out of their way to make it an incredibly memorable night.
