What's the deal with Kohls??

It sounds as if the original ticketed price went up.

That is certainly not the customer's fault! And to hassle someone you bought a gift for trying to exchange the SAME EXACT item with a RECEIPT in hand is certainly going to cause ill will. Kohls used to be my favorite store but now not so much.

I could understand if I returned everything that I would lose the Kohls cash, however by EXCHANGING A SWEATER which is what I did does not put the store out any cash and makes no sense that I lose the $10 certificate. Many times I buy something extra that I don't really need just to make the $50 and get the cash, however I will no longer be doing that.
I buy probably 50% of all my gifts at Kohls however I will be thinking twice from now on. I understand that there are people who buy a ton of stuff and return it all and keep the Kohls cash but that would be easy to see in their computers and nip in the bud. But to punish someone who just needs another size is only making customers angry.

I went to return some pjs for DD and I had earned double Kohls cash $20.00 when I bought them (with other stuff). So I had the choice of getting $18.00 refund for pjs and losing $20.00 Kohls cash or keeping the pjs. I exchanged the pjs for another set and kept the Kohls cash. An actual exchange (not a store credit) will not impact your Kohls cash.

Who said it was the customer's fault? :confused3

There is a difference between explaining why something happened, and blaming the person. And what happened to that poster was very rare. I can't think of time I have had it happen to me, and as my mom works at Kohls I shop there a lot! But the store should have handled it better, no question.

<snickering about the mother of the college student who thinks an extra sweater means only one more day before laundry> :)

I should have said "week," shouldn't I? I've sent three boys to college, so it's not like I don't have a pretty good grasp of how much laundry is done.:rotfl2:
